Phillip Lim is on a mission to root out hate against Asian Americans
When Phillip Lim started out in the fashion industry two decades ago, he says there was a prevailing sense that designers shouldn't talk about politics or social causes. Instead, the clothes should speak for themselves.
Times have changed. Today, consumers want to know what their brands stand for. And Lim wants his brand to very clearly stand against racism and xenophobia. Over the past two months, he has spoken out repeatedly about violence against Asian Americans, using his platform for community organizing and activism.
