| Oro to buy 10 more high-flow oxygenation machines Posted: 25 May 2021 06:10 AM PDT THE City Government of Cagayan de Oro is planning to purchase 10 more units of high-flow oxygenation machines to be used by the city's private hospitals and the JR Borja General Hospital. "I instructed Teddy Sabuga-a (Acting City Administrator Teodoro Sabuga-a) karon to work on the purchase of 10 high-flow oxygen para atong itabang sa mga hospitals, atong ipagamit, including JR Borja," Mayor Oscar Moreno said during the daily press briefing on Tuesday, May 25. "Ang kanang high-flow oxygen makatabang na sa pagginhawa sa atong mga pasyente," he added. According to Moreno, while the hospitals in the city are in need of more mechanical ventilators, what the City Government can easily procure are the high-flow oxygenation machines. It can be recalled that the City has already bought some 10 units of high-flow oxygenation machines intended for the Northern Mindanao Medical Center (NMMC) and JR Borja General Hospital. As of May 24, there are a total of 154 Covid-19 patients admitted at the NMMC Ereid/Cereid section, while a total of 330 Covid-19 cases are admitted in Cagayan de Oro hospital. | Active Covid-19 cases in Cagayan de Oro now at 1,040 Posted: 25 May 2021 06:10 AM PDT THE number of active coronavirus disease (Covid-19) cases in Cagayan de Oro has reached 1,040. As of 10 p.m. Monday, May 24, the City Health Office recorded 67 new cases, 17 of which are local cases with link, nine are local authorized persons outside residence (Apors), 27 are local index cases, six are Apors with link, three are persons deprived of liberty (PDLs), and five deaths. This brought the cumulative Covid-19 case count to 6,536. According to Acting City Health Officer Dr. Lorraine Nery, of the 6,536 total Covid-19 cases in the city, 439 were under the returning overseas Filipinos/locally stranded individuals (ROFs/LSIs) category and 6,097 cases were local transmissions. The city's active cases, on the other hand, were composed of 289 who were admitted to the Northern Mindanao Medical Center and other hospitals in the city, and 751 outpatients. Cagayan de Oro also registered 27 Covid-19 patients who have recovered from the disease, bringing the total recoveries to 5,215, with a 79.78-percent recovery rate. Of the figure, 313 were LSIs, 124 were ROFs, and 4,778 were local cases (community: 4,054; Apors: 724). The number of Covid-19 deaths in the city is now at 281.
