| 93 Cagayan de Oro residents contract coronavirus Posted: 18 Jun 2021 06:43 AM PDT THE Cagayan de Oro City Health Office recorded 93 new coronavirus disease (Covid-19) cases, one of which is a locally stranded individual (LSI) and 92 are local transmissions. This brought the total number of confirmed infections in the city to 9,214. According to the City Health Office, of the 92 new local cases, 30 were close contacts of previously confirmed cases, 48 were local index cases, 11 were local authorized persons outside residence (Apors), two were Apors with link, and one mortality. Cagayan de Oro logged 1,617 active cases, 420 of whom were admitted to the Northern Mindanao Medical Center and other hospitals in the city, 1,196 were outpatients, and one ROF/LSI. The city also registered 129 new coronavirus-positive persons who were now tagged as "recovered," bringing the total number of recoveries in Cagayan de Oro to 7,182. The number of Covid-19 deaths in the city is now at 415. Meanwhile, the total number of coronavirus-positive individuals in Cagayan de Oro is now at 670, city epidemiologist Dr. Joselito Retuya reported on Friday, June 18. According to Retuya, of the 670 vaccinees, 472 were vaccinated with Sinovac vaccine, 186 were vaccinated with AstraZeneca, five with Sputnik V, five with Pfizer, and two Sinopharm. Of the 472 Covid-positive Sinovac vaccinees, 342 individuals are experiencing mild symptoms, 106 are asymptomatic, and two are severe cases. Among the 186 AstraZeneca vaccinees, 122 individuals have mild symptoms, 48 are asymptomatic, 15 have moderate symptoms, and one is a severe case. | 6,000 individuals in Oro vaccinated with Pfizer vax Posted: 18 Jun 2021 06:43 AM PDT AROUND 6,000 individuals have received their first dose of the Pfizer Covid-19 vaccine during the first two days of the vaccination rollout in three vaccination sites in Cagayan de Oro City on June 16 and 17. Dr. William Bernardo, the City Health Insurance Office-Data Management Task Group head, said those who received their first dose are from the priority groups A1 healthcare workers, A2 senior citizens, and A3 persons with comorbidities. Bernardo said 4,313 individuals were vaccinated with the Pfizer Covid-19 vaccine in SM CDO Downtown Premier and Limketkai Mall vaccination sites on June 16 and 17. "We are fast-tracking this to consume the Pfizer so that there will be continuity and sustainability in our vaccination program. Pfizer is also very critical, especially the handling," Bernardo said. Cagayan de Oro recorded more than 1,000 average daily vaccinees who got their dose of the Covid-19 vaccine in the vaccination sites of SM CDO Downtown Premier, Limketkai Mall, and Centrio Ayalaa Mall, according to Bernardo. The city received 35,000 doses of Pfizer earlier this week. A total of 17,500 individuals from priority groups A1, A2, and A3 are expected to receive two doses of this vaccine.
