| MECQ, vaccination rollout cause decline of positive cases in NMMC Posted: 25 Jun 2021 08:34 AM PDT THE Northern Mindanao Medical Center (NMMC) has seen a gradual decline in the number of positive cases as well as admissions of Covid-positive patients. According to NMMC Research Center Head Dr. Gina Itchon, the quarantine status of Cagayan de Oro City as modified enhanced community quarantine (MECQ), as well as the continuous vaccination rollout have contributed to the drop in the number of Covid-positive cases in NMMC. "This is the difference betweent he surge last year and this year. Gawas sa mas daghan ang kaso nato karon, naa sad tay bakuna ug mas istrikto nga quarantine status karon," Itchon said. "I think mas dako nga factor ang pagamakuna nato," she added. As of June 24, the NMMC has recorded a total of 2,016 Covid-positive cases, of which 145 are still admitted, 12 are still at the emergency room (ER), 1,441 have recovered and 418 died. Currently admitted at the NMMC's Emerging and Re-emerging Infectious Disease (Ereid)/Cereid section are 145, with 100 at the Ereid while 45 at the Cereid in Barangay San Simon, this city. Of the 145 admitted Covid-positive patients, 100 are residents of Cagayan de Oro, 36 are from Misamis Oriental, five are from Bukidnon, and four are from Iligan City.
