The team will focus on "rooting out discrimination in all of its forms," including when it comes to policing, housing discrimination and school segregation, officials said.
LIPA accelerating efforts to lower taxes on its power plants
LIPA expects to go to trial to reduce taxes on plants in Island Park and Glenwood Landing, and is in a dispute with Brookhaven Town over its tax settlement.
