| 1 Daulah Islamiyah follower dies in Maguindanao clash Posted: 03 Jul 2021 07:02 AM PDT A MEMBER of the Daulah Islamiyah was killed in a clash with government forces in the Province of Maguindanao, the military reported Saturday, July 3, 2021. Lieutenant General Corleto Vinluan, Jr., commander of the Western Mindanao Command (Westmincom), said the Joint Task Force (JTF)-Central troops were conducting focused military operation when they chanced some 30 followers of the Daulah Islamiyah-Hassan Group led by Salahuddin Hassan at noontime Friday, July 2, in Salman village, Ampatuan, Maguindanao. Vinluan said the firefight lasted for about 30 minutes that resulted in the death of a follower of Hassan, while the rest of the group scampered in different directions. Major General Juvymax Uy, JTF-Central commander, said the slain Daulah Islamiyah follower was identified as Muslimin Kulas Tagal, based on the postal and voter's identification (ID) cards recovered at the possession of the latter. Uy said aside from Tagal's remains, the troops also recovered one 5.56-millimeter empty long magazine, one civilian backpack, two cellular phones with charger, one pocket wifi, one postal ID, one voter's ID, one hammock, one wallet with P500, one bandolier, one laminated sack, two kilograms rice, assorted clothes, and medicines. Vinluan commended the JTF-Central for their untiring dedication to their duties. He further encouraged them to press on until armed groups are all dismantled. | Top 4 most wanted person of Olutanga dies in shootout Posted: 03 Jul 2021 07:01 AM PDT ONE of the most wanted persons in the Province of Zamboanga Sibugay was killed in a law enforcement operation launched by joint police and military operatives in that province, a police official announced. The fatality was identified as Arnel Sahibul alias Vandam, according to Police Major Shellamie Chang, Police Regional Office-Zamboanga Peninsula information officer. Chang said Sahibul was killed in a shootout during a law enforcement operation by way of service of warrant of arrest around 4:50 p.m. Wednesday, June 30, in Sawa village, Mabuhay, Zamboanga Sibugay. Chang said the shootout ensued after Sahibul, armed with a carbine rifle, opened fire while the lawmen were about to serve warrant of arrest against the latter. She said the troops returned fire that resulted in the death of Sahibul, who has standing warrant of arrest for the crime of frustrated murder issued on July 10, 2018 by the court of Imelda and is listed as the top 4 most wanted person of Oluntanga town, Zamboanga Sibugay province. She said the troops recovered from Sahibul a carbine rifle with several rounds of live ammunition, a grenade, illegal drug paraphernalia, and some personal belongings. | Barmm releases P37-M medical aid for indigents Posted: 03 Jul 2021 07:00 AM PDT THE Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (Barmm), through the Ministry of Social Services and Development (MSSD), has already released some P37 million in medical fund intended to support destitute patients across Barmm. Lawyer Raissa Jajurie, minister of social service and development, said the funds were released to 10 hospitals through the Bangsamoro Critical Assistance in Response to Emergency Situation (B-Cares) program of the MSSD. The 10 hospitals have entered into agreement with the MSSD for the implementation of the B-Cares program. Jajuri said the B-Cares program covers the hospitalization expenses, medicines, and medical treatment and procedures (including laboratory, CT scan, dialysis, MRIs, anti-retroviral therapy, and chemotherapy) of the identified and validated poor and eligible beneficiaries. The hospitals that received medical fund are as follows: Cotabato Regional Medical Center, P10 million; Amai PakPak Medical Center, P10 million; Datu Halun Sakilan Memorial Hospital, P5 million; Sulu Provincial Hospital; P3 million; Pangutaran District Hospital, P1 million; Basilan General Hospital, P2 million; Cotabato Sanitarium Hospital, P2 million; Maguindanao Provincial Hospital, P2 million; Community Health Services Cooperative Hospital, P1 million; and Dr. R.A.M Albutra General Hospital, P1 million. Jajurie emphasized that the initiative aims to cater to individuals and families in the region who are experiencing crises.
