Memorial at Alki Beach honors Indigenous children who died at Canadian residential schools

The discovery of children's remains at multiple Canadian residential schools led many Indigenous communities to protest Canada Day on July 1. Memorials and vigils were held across the U.S. and Canada for people to mourn the losses together.
