Consult a doctor in the safety of your home thru GMDC Telemedicine

Posted: 20 Aug 2021 01:17 AM PDT

GREPA Medical and Diagnostic Center (GMDC), a division of Sun Life Grepa Financial Inc. (Sun Life Grepa), now offers safe, convenient telemedicine services for outpatient cases nationwide.

This aims to help decongest hospitals, maintain physical distance and reduce the spread of Covid-19 especially now with the threat of highly transmissible Delta variant.

The GMDC Telemedicine is an online consultation service that uses a video conferencing platform where clients can virtually ask doctors about their non-urgent health concerns while in the safety and comfort of their homes.

"We have seen how telemedicine is an extraordinary tool," says Sun Life Grepa President Richard S. Lim. "By extending our telemedicine services outside our employees, people who are experiencing medical ailments and illnesses during this time can receive appropriate and timely medical advice without necessarily going to hospitals, minimizing the risk of being exposed to Covid-19."

In using GMDC Telemedicine, clients can also enjoy using a convenient scheduling system to avoid long queues and waiting time.

GMDC doctors are available from Mondays to Fridays, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The consultation fee ranges from P650 to P1,000, depending on the nature of the inquiry. The consultation fee can be paid through RCBC Bank Transfer. For clients who are health card (HMO) holders, they may contact their local HMO for a Letter of Authorization.

For corporate clients, the fee for the consultation service is charged to their account.

Interested parties may call the GMDC coordinator at 8886.65.86 to 87 or email gmdc@sunlifegrepa.com to set an appointment. (Sponsored Content)

Davao City, Globe partner for internet connectivity

Posted: 19 Aug 2021 07:16 AM PDT

DABAWENYOS can soon easily connect to wifi as Davao City partners with one of the largest internet service providers in the country, Globe.

Globe officially launched its partnership with the City Government of Davao on August 18, 2021 through its KonekTayo Wifi and GoWifi, solidifying the network's support to the progressive city.

Dabawenyos can easily connect their gadgets to a wifi using GoWifi when they are at the city hall or at People's Park. At the same time, those who are residing in barangays Bucana, Sasa, and at SIR villages 1 and 2 can soon easily access the internet through Globe's KonekTayo Wifi.

Ernest Cu, Globe president and chief executive officer, said the initiative is part of Globe's aim to sustain the positive impact on Filipinos through innovative products and services.

"Today's kickoff is more as a significant milestone as Globe and Davao elevate their partnership to new heights. This partnership gives the people of Davao accessible connectivity through GoWifi and KonekTayo Wifi. Bringing internet to the Filipino masses and getting them online has been a priority for Globe especially as our current situation makes it an essential component for most of our everyday lives; it enables us to work, to learn, to protect our health, to communicate, and access essential services," Cu said.

He said with this partnership in place, Globe together with the Davao City leaders seek to connect residents and communities online so that they can have access to important services that require internet connection.

"Amidst the challenges brought about by the Covid-19 pandemic, we at Globe have been relentless in our acquisition efforts and permitting activities to serve communities in Davao," Cu said.

He added none of its initiatives would have been possible if not for the support of the Davao City leaders who share in their ambition to make the Philippines a truly digital nation.

For her part, Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio thanked Globe Telecom for its support to the city over the years.

"On behalf of the City Government of Davao, I would like to thank Globe Telecom for your support to the City Government over the years and for providing fast and secure internet connectivity to the public, this time through the Globe GoWifi and KonekTayo Wifi services," Duterte-Carpio said during the event.

"With the growing numbers of internet users in the city comes the need for faster, more secure and more affordable and accessible wifi connections, especially now that the Covid-19 pandemic has pushed us to turn to online platforms to reach out to others, to access basic needs and to pursue essential activities related to health, work, education, and economy," she said.

The virtual event was also attended by Davao City Vice Mayor Sebastian "Baste" Duterte and other city officials such as Office of the City Planning and Development Office head Ivan C. Cortez, Mark Layog of the Vice Mayor's Office, among many others.
