CORRECTION - "Record-shattering rainfall," but no tornadoes as Ida plowed across LI

LI dries out from Ida's historic rainfall as Biden pledges aid for the hard hit Northeast
The storm brought "record-shattering rainfall" and thunderstorms with high winds. But no tornadoes touched down on LI. One Lloyd Neck couple dodged a near-hit from a tree as they slept. Cecilia Dowd reports.
Ida cripples much of the region's transportation system
The Long Island Rail Road had restored service on all its branches, except for Port Washington, by midmorning Thursday. Full service is expected to return Friday morning.
