January & February 2022 STATS FOR STORIES (SFS) January is Poverty in America Awareness Month and Hot Tea Month. January 26 is Michigan's 185th Anniversary of Statehood and National Spouses Day. February is American Heart Month.   National Poverty in America Awareness Month: January According to the Current Population Survey, the official poverty rate in 2020 was 11.4%, from 10.5% in 2019, and the first increase after five annual declines.
