So let us all work together for a healthy Pilipinas," he added.Duque said the DOH believes that substance use and abuse are chronic but treatable medical conditions that require a holistic approach through a whole of government, whole of society, and the whole of systems approach.PDEA said as of January 31, 24,303 out of the 42,045 total villages in the country are now considered drug-cleared, while 6,616 others were not affected by the problem or already considered drug-free.It said since 2016, 226,662 anti-illegal drugs operations have been conducted by the law enforcement agencies, resulting in the arrest of 327,039 drug suspects and killing of 6,229 others.A total of 14,389 high-value targets, including elected officials, uniformed personnel and government employees, have been arrested during the said period.PDEA said a total of nearly 10,000 kilograms of methamphetamine hydrochloride (shabu) worth around P63.22 billion were seized during the operations. Duterte: Mindanao is relatively peaceful now Posted: 13 Mar 2022 11:11 PM PDT PRESIDENT Rodrigo Duterte said Mindanao is relatively peaceful now following the establishment of the new autonomous region and the cultivation of good relations with the Muslim population."I think we have relatively peaceful Mindanao... And for the longest time, we have not heard of any kidnapped victim. 'Yung nandoon sa kanila, kanila lang man 'yun. But 'yung mga ika nga mga bisita o hindi tagaroon, medyo nawala na rin," Duterte said during an interview with Pastor Apollo Quiboloy on Saturday, March 12, 2022."We have a good rapport with the Moro of Mindanao. And I think that just allow them in the governance of our country and give them enough elbow room to, you know, to just govern without interference of armed groups," he added.Duterte said the Muslim population's animosity with the government has also waned after the administration addressed the issues concerning Mindanao, especially the feeling of being left behind. The President cited the appointments of Muslims in the government, such as the new chairman of the Commission on Elections (Comelec), justices in the Supreme Court (SC) and Court of Appeals (CA), as well as officials in different government agencies."So sinadya ko 'yan para wala silang masabi that they are being left out. And for the long list of prosecutors and judges, marami akong in-appoint, lady Moro judges at 'yung mga prosecutors," he said."I think that we have achieved militarily the objectives of keeping the peace in Mindanao. God willing, if this will be the -- if the equilibrium nama-maintain, we are trouble-free," he added. In 2018, Duterte signed the Bangsamoro Organic Law for the establishment of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao, which provides the basic structure of the Bangsamoro government. PDP-Laban official endorses Robredo for president Posted: 13 Mar 2022 10:01 PM PDT A TOP official of the Partido Demokratiko Pilipino–Lakas ng Bayan (PDP-Laban) in the Visayas has openly endorsed presidential aspirant Vice President Leni Robredo. In a statement, Eastern Samar Governor Ben Evardone, the ruling party's vice president for the Visayas, said he believes that President Rodrigo Duterte, the PDP-Laban's chairman, "virtually" endorsed Robredo following his statement that he prefers that his successor is a lawyer."We welcome and support the high bar President Duterte has set for his successor. He knows whereof he speaks, and we understand it. It is the same standard with which he tries to measure himself in governing the nation," Evardone said."For me and for millions of Filipinos, there is only one decisive and compassionate lawyer among those aspiring to be president and she is VP Leni... She's the only one who can hurdle President Duterte's standard for his successor," he added.Evardone said Robredo has been "very consistent" with her advocacies and programs especially for the poor families and marginalized sectors. In an interview with Pastor Apollo Quiboloy on Saturday, March 12, Duterte said among the characteristics the Filipino people should look for in selecting for the next president is compassionate, has a good judgment for character and is decisive. He said he hopes that the person is a lawyer. He made the statement despite saying weeks prior that he has yet to see a compelling reason to endorse a candidate.Meanwhile, PDP-Laban president Alfonso Cusi said Duterte was not referring to anyone when he made the statement."I think he was not referring to anybody. Pero parang siya, 'kung sana ito ang gusto ko,' parang wish list lang iyon ng qualities," he said in a television interview on Monday, March 14, 2022.The Cusi faction has no presidential candidate for the upcoming national elections after their supposed bet, Senator Christopher "Bong" Go, withdrew his presidential bid. They adopted Duterte's daughter, Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio, as their bet for the vice president position. CPP warns public over Duterte’s ‘false flag operations’ Posted: 13 Mar 2022 09:42 PM PDT THE Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) has warned the public against President Rodrigo Duterte's "false flag operations" following claims that the communist group was working on something to cause chaos during the May 2022 national elections."The tyrant Duterte has joined in chorus with Senator Panfilo Lacson in whipping up the bogey of 'disruption during the elections' and fabricating stories of 'intelligence reports,' 'a communist plot' and 'alliance with the opposition,'" CPP spokesperson Marco Valbuena said in a statement."Their duet grates on the Filipino people's ears. Duterte is now singing a tune from the Marcos songbook. His statements echo warnings and scenario-building of Ferdinand Marcos made 50 years ago prior to the declaration of martial law in September 21, 1972," he added.Valbuena said Duterte is rushing to build such a scenario amid the "increasing political isolation of the ruling regime and growing mass movement against the Marcos-Duterte tandem."He was referring to the team-up of presidential aspirant Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. and his running mate, Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio, the eldest daughter of the President.Valbuena said the anti-Marcos-Duterte movement is developing around the election campaign of the opposition bets Vice President Leni Robredo and Senator Francis Pangilinan."The Filipino people must stay alert and guard against Duterte's false flag operations. His vague words of the possibility of 'one, two or three' incidents may indicate plans to carry out some form of violent attacks (bombings or assassinations) which can then lay the blame on the CPP and NPA, and set the stage for mass arrests of members of patriotic and democratic mass organizations and opposition parties, or an open declaration of martial law," he said.He urged the public to continue to mount mass actions to protest against the Duterte regime, noting that plans to disrupt the elections through violent means "will most likely" be the handiwork of the President himself."Duterte is not a stranger to bloody tactics as evidenced by the drug war killings, the bombing of Marawi, the aerial bombing drive and cold-blooded murder of revolutionaries and activists," said Valbuena. In an interview with Pastor Apollo Quiboloy on Saturday, March 12, Duterte said he cannot promise a peaceful, safe and clean election amid alarming reports that the communist terrorist group is tying up with certain groups to hold violent attacks during the polls. He particularly made mention of the "dilawans," the term being used to refer to the opposition or the members and supporters of the Liberal Party of the Philippines.Among the 10 presidential aspirants, Vice President Leni Robredo is a member of the Liberal Party but she is running as an independent candidate. Her vice presidential running mate, Senator Francis Pangilinan, is also a member of the opposition party.Presidential aspirant Senator Panfilo Lacson also warned Robredo last week over reports that her campaign activities are being infiltrated by members of the terrorist group.Robredo denied these claims linking her to the CPP-NPA-National Democratic Front of the Philippines. Robredo denies ‘links’ with communist groups Posted: 13 Mar 2022 09:26 PM PDT PRESIDENTIAL aspirant Vice President Leni Robredo denied on Sunday, March 13, 2022, claims that they are tying up with the Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP)-New People's Army (NPA)-National Democratic Front of the Philippines (NDFP) for the upcoming polls."Andami daw nakatanggap nito kagabi. Tapos non-stop ang red tagging sa akin at sa ating volunteers. May paandar pang bubuo daw ako ng coalition government kasama ang CPP-NPA-NDF. Para klaro: kasinungalingan ito," Robredo said in a statement.(A lot have reportedly received the message. The red tagging on me and our volunteers is also non-stop. There were even reports that I will be forming a coalition government with the CPP-NPA-NDF. To make it clear: These are all lies.)She was referring to a text message circulating online and via SMS where she allegedly expressed support to Joma Sison, the founder of CPP.There was another text message where Sison expressed support to Robredo."'Yung mga talagang kilala ako, alam na hindi ako naniniwala sa dahas para solusyonan ang anumang problema. Alam na tutol ako sa sinumang pumupulot ng armas para mag-giit ng sariling agenda. Hindi ako makikipag-alyansa sa mga ganun or sa mga naniniwala dun. Priority ko ang magtrabaho sa mapayapang paraan para sa dignidad ng bawat tao, ang empowered and responsible exercise of freedoms, at ang fairness," she added.(Those who really know me know that I will not resort to violence to solve any problems. They know that I am against anyone who take up arms to push their own agenda. I will not ally myself with those who believe in that. My priority is to work peacefully to uplift the dignity of everyone, for empowered and responsible exercise of freedoms and fairness.)"Alam yan ng lahat ng katrabaho ko, kasama na ang mga nasa uniformed services, na mukhang sila ang tinatarget ng mga ganitong disinformation at propaganda. Kaya pwede ba. Gusto nyong pigilin ang momentum ng People's Campaign? Try harder. O better yet: Sumali na lang kaya kayo? Ipanalo na natin 'to," she added.(Those who are working with me know that, including those in the uniformed services who seemed to be the target of disinformation and propaganda. So please. You want to stop the momentum of the People's Campaign? Try harder or better yet, join us? Let us win this one.)Earlier, presidential aspirant Senator Panfilo Lacson said a former NPA member confirmed to him the alleged infiltration by communist rebels of Robredo's campaign sorties, particularly the one held in Cavite.Lacson warned Robredo, saying it is "scary and worrisome.""Pero scary 'yon kung mayroong nasa crowd na mismong kasama nila na mga kadre. So ang implication anong ginagawa nila doon? Bakit kailangan mag-punta pa doon? Mayroon ba sila namobilize na kasama?" he added.(But that's scary if some of those joining the sorties are rebels. So the implication is what are they doing there? Why go there? Have they mobilized a member?)Robredo's spokesperson, lawyer Barry Gutierrez, denied Lacson's claim, saying it was a "blatant and persistent red tagging, masked as concern."In an interview on Saturday, March 12, President Rodrigo Duterte said he received intelligence information that certain groups, including the "dilawans," are cooking on something to disrupt the upcoming polls.Robredo is a member of the Liberal Party but she is running as an independent candidate. They are watching for that kind of situation. They might be... Iyon ang sinabi ko na puwedeng manggulo kasi they have these working relations now with the dilawan and the election is the objective really," he said in an interview with Pastor Apollo Quiboloy on Saturday, March 12, 2022."I cannot guarantee you that it will be peaceful. There will be one or two or three, and even dito sa Mindanao," he added. But Duterte warned politicians and their supporters planning to use violence to advance their political interest ahead of the national polls. He mentioned factions in Cotabato allegedly plotting violent activities."I will not allow terrorism sa election. I will not allow violence. Kampanya lang kayo. 'Pag nag — puntahan ko talaga kayo," said Duterte."And I'm repeating this warning this election. Wala akong... May kinakampihan ako. I'm a politician; I could not have been President without politics. Pero iyong mga magsabi mag-warlord-warlord, ah wala na talaga kasi pupuntahan ko talaga kayo. Maniwala kayo, pupuntahan ko kayo," he added.Meanwhile, Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief Dionardo Carlos said they will conduct a probe into the matter and submit their report to Duterte.Earlier, Duterte said he has yet to see any compelling reason to support any candidate, noting that they are all qualified. He said, however, during the same interview that he prefers a lawyer to be his successor.Of the 10 presidential aspirants, only Vice President Leni Robredo and Jose Montemayor Jr. are members of the legal profession.Robredo is a member of the Liberal Party but she is running as an independent candidate.
