It’s impossible to cut yourself on this knife inspired by sea shells

 
Knives are sharp by design. And that's great, until you accidentally cut yourself with one.  And boy, do we cut ourselves—half a million Americans end up in the ER that way each year.

But a new project from the Japanese design firm Nendo reimagines a letter opener shaped like a sea shell.  The result? No more cuts, even if you’re working your way through a huge stack of mail.
