More bad news.  If you don't find that funny, well, sorry. Here is some bad news anyway: looming economic shocks that could seriously damage our recovery from the pandemic, either by worsening inflation or raising the risk of a recession. That's the focus of Catherine Rampell's latest column. For the Federal Reserve, she warns, "engineering a 'soft landing' for this hot economy was always going to be difficult. But it got more difficult in light of recent global events, because the Fed is being pulling in conflicting directions." We'll see how this plays out in the weeks and days ahead. But one thing seems certain: Americans should expect no relief from the nonstop turmoil anytime soon.
