Fireflies are one of the best parts of warm summer nights. The dancing, flickering lights of these tiny bugs have enamored people for centuries. Now, a group of scientists at MIT have created robot lightning bugs inspired by nature. Not only can these robots fly, but they also emit light. Just like real-life fireflies.
From performing simple tasks to helping explore the Moon, humans have found many uses for robots. But what could robots the size of an insect do? Well, the possibilities, as it turns out, are quite endless.
Apple launched the first iPhone 15 years ago this week, kicking off a new chapter in the mobile revolution and cementing the preeminence of a piece of consumer hardware that would dominate Apple's fortunes for the next decade and beyond. Notwithstanding how long some of you have been iPhone users, though, the handsets are so feature-rich now thanks to Apple's iterative iOS releases that -- unless you follow all this for a living -- there must just be tons of things your iPhone can do that you don't even realize.
What's more, Apple doesn't always make a big deal about heralding every single iPhone feature tucked away in new iOS releases. Some of them you either find by accident or you manage to hear about from someone or someplace else.
This Friday, the final two episodes of Stranger Things 4 will start streaming on Netflix. Series creators Matt and Ross Duffer have already confirmed that this is the penultimate season of the show, with the story set to end in season 5. But that won't be the end of the franchise. At least one Stranger Things spinoff is already in the works, and while Netflix has yet to officially announce it, the Duffer brothers are starting to share some details.
Vice President Leni Robredo’s camp seeks to take legal actions against individuals who thrive on spreading misinformation and fake news on social media after she leaves office on June 30.
Robredo's spokesperson Atty. Barry Gutierrez said disinformation is an attack on the country’s democracy.
"Sa darating na mga linggo at buwan, tayo ay maglulunsad ng isang malawakang pagkilos at inisyatiba para tugunan at kalabanin itong paninira at paglaganap nitong fake news at kasinungalingan sa social media. Klaro na itong klase ng kalakaran ay nakakasira sa ating demokrasya at maayos na diskursong pampubliko," he said during an appearance on the vice president’s weekly radio program.
"Pinaguusapan, kasama ng ilang grupo ng mga abogado, ang pagsasampa ng kaso laban doon sa mga tao na pinipilit na ipagpatuloy ito at posible ding laban doon sa mga mismong plataporma na nagho-host ng mga ganitong klaseng materyales gayang mga social media platforms na meron tayo sa kasalukuyan," he added.
"Para din ito sa kapakanan at kabutihan ng ating buong bansa at ng ating buong lipunan. Kailangan mapalabas natin 'yung totoo. Kailangan ang ating usapan ay nakabatay sa katotohanan at datos, at hindi sa fake news," he said.
Robredo previously acknowledged that disinformation played a huge part in the election results and that her camp isn’t ruling out investigating possible election irregularities.
Kakampinks aren’t the only group supporting the initiative but others. The excitement for the new campaign was evident on Twitter.
May mga nagsasabi dapat maaga pa nya ito ginawa, but that's ok. Time nya ngayon to do it on her own capacity & besides, kung mas maraming grupo at indibidwal ang magsasama-sama para labanan ang disinformation & historical revisionism, marami ang mamumulat sa katotohanan. https://t.co/wByiiXhysu
While Robredo suffered the most from disinformation, President-elect Bongbong Marcos benefited the most.
"Marami po talaga, every week, she is the biggest victim of disinformation or negative messaging, whether it's about the typhoon, COVID-19 response, and all sorts," TsekPH head Yvonne Chua told Senators earlier this year.
"Marami po talaga, every week, she is the biggest victim of disinformation or negative messaging, whether it's about the typhoon, COVID-19 response, and all sorts," she added.
Chua noted that what Robredo went through was also experienced by Bam Aquino and Mar Roxas in the 2019 senatorial elections. Both were leading the surveys but eventually lost with the help of fake news.
"Unfortunately, the trend persists despite the efforts to curb misinformation. A lot has come out ahead of May elections," Chua said.
A family has gone viral for attempting to emulate the family picture of Billy Crawford, Coleen Garcia, and their baby Amari at the Bellevue Resort.
In the said photo, Garcia is sitting on a paddle board breastfeeding her son while Crawford stares at them.
“It was my first time on the paddle board, and I was finally having some nice alone time, until the little guy spotted me while he was playing in the water. It was nice while it lasted.” she wrote on Instagram.
The photo caught the attention of both men and women and has received nearly 240k likes.
Social media personality Whamos Cruz had his followers wishing “sana all” after he gifted his father a brand new car on Father’s Day,
In a 17-minute video, Cruz and the crew pull up to his Papa Tikyo’s crib and prank him before handing him a chocolate cake that said, “Happy Father's Day.”
Tikyo was then asked to step outside his home as an old friend from the show business visited him. He used to play extras for movies back in the day
After, Cruz placed a blindfold over his father’s eyes for the ultimate surprise. He hyped him before revealing to him a golden Honda City.
"Maganda na yung sasakyan niya guys oh," Cruz said. "Mahal na mahal kita, namin… itinaguyod mo kami simula pagkabata, ngayon… kami naman ang babawi para sa iyo." he added.
Tikyo shed more tears after being handed the keys to his new vehicle. Netizens noticed he couldn’t stop smiling.
"Achievement n'yo eh achievement ko na rin," he told everyone, also adding that his previous car no longer functions properly.
Viewers in the comment section of the video could only wish they could mirror what Cruz just did.
“Sana dumating din yung time na maganyan ko din parents ko kahit Hindi ganyan ka bongga makabawi ako sa lahat ng sacrifice nila. Naiiyak ako ng sobra. Happy father’s day po,” a netizen commented.
Others said Tikyo is lucky to have a generous son like Cruz.
“Wala talaga sa hitsura yan. Swerte ng tatay nya. More blessing to come. Sana d ka magbago,” another said.
Cruz has one of the biggest followings among all the Philippine influencers. It is common for his videos to hit a million views in a week.
Cruz was first introduced to the public when he was a contestant on ABS-CBN’s "Idol Philippines" in 2019. His relationship with current girlfriend Antonette Gail del Rosario didn’t come easy as her mother objected to them being together.
Thanks to a handful of rule changes, including two big ones for college football transfers, NCAA football is a different sport now than it was even three years ago. In 2019, the NCAA opened up the transfer portal, a centralized database where players seeking a new school could enter their names and—hopefully—find a new place to play. In 2021, under heavy political pressure, the association did away with two long standing policies. One was the ban on players taking money from third parties. The elimination of that rule opened the door for friends of various programs to use their wallets to lure both prep recruits and transfers. The second was the end of the national policy that required most transfers to sit out one season after arriving on a new campus. Now, they can make the leap and play right away.
There are two ways to talk about this new era. One is to fret about what it means for the future of college sports and how the long-term relationship between athletes and their universities will evolve. That's important, but it's not that much fun to talk about, and nobody will know the answer for years. The other path is to simply talk ball. Hundreds of players who played for one team in 2021 will play for a different one in 2022, and they'll help shape the coming season. Here's a straightforward list of the college football transfers with the best recruiting ratings, if you're interested in such a ranking. But rankings aren't everything—below is a selection of eight transfer players who I think are especially interesting to follow as the 2022 season gets going.
I'm just hoping it won't make me a statistic," says Vitaliy Musiyenko from across my dinner table in Mariposa, CA, just outside Yosemite National Park. The 35-year-old climber is referring to his voracious passion for doing new routes and ropeless climbs in the nearby Sierra Nevada range, while performing endurance feats and Fastest Known Times (FKTs) that boggle the mind. Musiyenko's magnum opus is the Goliath Traverse, aka "the Goliath," an endurance climb so over-the-top that he actually had to coin the name Goliath himself.
He's vaguely heard of a few other attempts on this route—none of which came even remotely close to completion. "Supposedly one team starting from the north got about as far as Palisade Crest before deciding the rock was too loose and not worth the risk," he says. Musiyenko's colleague Alex Honnold, of Free Solo fame, calls Goliath "the longest and most adventurous ridge traverse I've ever heard of. Literally miles of rock climbing." The mere thought of it, adds Honnold, leaves him "horrified, repulsed—and inspired."
At the table, Musiyenko is donning a chalk-dusted jacket that hides his solid frame. Bloodstained athletic tape is still wrapped around his hands from logging 2,000 vertical feet of Yosemite climbing over the last couple of days. Just a little extracurricular activity while here to share his Goliath Traverse experience with me. A journey so long that it fits on two maps. So arduous that only portions of it have been tackled by the world's best, luring in mountaineering luminaries like Peter Croft and Conrad Anker.
"That's what attracts us to do hard things," Musiyenko says matter-of-factly. "It's that they're hard."
Yeah. That's quite the understatement with the Goliath Traverse, a 32-mile ridge crossing in the High Sierra that ascends 80,000 vertical feet (nearly three times the height of Everest) and, in doing so, crosses 60 peaks. News of Musiyenko's solo completion of this monster last August stunned the elite climbing world. Crazier still, by combining ultra-running, free-solo rock climbing and bare-bones camping above 13,000 feet, the Ukrainian-American climber did it in just eight days in one continuous push without a resupply.
"Alpinist and Climbing magazines say it's the biggest traverse that's been done in the Western Hemisphere as a technical route," Musiyenko says, not boastfully. It is what it is. Naturally, the first question is: What was the worst part?
"Thunderbolt Peak on day five," he says on cue. "That was the low point."
He pauses for a moment, as if letting some very shitty memories of Thunderbolt Peak on day five barge unchronologically into the frame of his Goliath Traverse story—before gently shoving them back in their place with a quick we'll-get-there summation.
"I mean—if I blew it on Thunderbolt Peak, I knew I would die."
The Goliath Traverse consists of two massive 16-mile legs along the Sierra Crest—the Full Monty Palisade Traverse and the Full Evolution Crest Traverse. On the climbing scale, both traverses are classed as 5.9 (challenging) and Grade VI (technical, committing). As for the human scale, the Full Monty had never been completed due to its length and sheer difficulty. Only a few climbers have managed to make it through all of Full Evolution, including Musiyenko from a previous climb—who'd back then called it the hardest thing he'd ever done. Last August, he was set on stringing these two behemoths together in one go. To most of his climbing peers, this was unthinkable. To Musiyenko, linking up two of the most jagged subranges of the High Sierra connected by a pass just seemed "like a pretty logical next step."
Left: High Sierra nights may be sleepless, but they yield a few stars. Right: Summit register has waited years for this next signature on Mount No-Name.Vitaliy Musiyenko
Over eight days, this logic will require him to log 10,000 vertical feet of elevation gain daily, largely on imposing, crumbling terrain. Between summits, he'll need to navigate huge slopes of talus-strewn ridgeline with both speed and agility.
Well before this second bid, Goliath was Musiyenko's white whale. During a first attempt in 2016, he made it about a third of the way through before bailing—reluctantly. He would've pressed on, he says, had it not been for a nagging feeling that he'd die if he did. Later, he would find out that fellow elite climber and friend Julia Mackenzie had perished from a fall on Mount Haeckel the day before Musiyenko himself had climbed it.
"The Goliath became my number one priority last year," says Musiyenko, who crammed in a year of anxious, meticulous preparation between ER nursing shifts. "I was obsessed," he confesses. "But I knew I had to approach it with hesitation, fear and respect because if you get too cocky…"
Overcoming long odds is what Musiyenko has done from pretty much the get-go. Born in Belarus shortly after the 1986 Chernobyl nuclear disaster, he was exposed in utero to the fallout which would plague him with a chronic eczema-like skin condition. When he was 5, his parents divorced and he moved with his mother to Kharkiv, Ukraine, and later to San Francisco. At age 14, he got his first job, at Domino's Pizza—and by 16, he was 300 pounds and struggling in school.
Joining his high school football team ("to get my ass in shape") and powering through painful shin splints, Musiyenko would hone his signature claw-to-the-finish-line drive. Later, he'd apply it to climbing as well as nursing school. Putting himself through college, he worked double shifts as a security guard, often sleeping in his car between round-the-clock commitments. He kept this up for years.
Another day, another 10,000 vertical feet.Vitaliy Musiyenko
In 2010, Musiyenko and a co-worker scrambled up 14,505-foot Mount Whitney—a three-day epiphany during which he caught the climbing bug. Joining a Planet Granite gym, he trained rigorously over the next dozen years. Today he lives in Visalia, CA, works as an ER nurse and is an expert first ascensionist. He's climbed hard, technical ice and rock routes from Alaska's Denali to Patagonia's Cerro Torre. But his 150 first ascents have focused mainly on his backyard, the Sierra Nevada, where he has penned a soon-to-be-published, three-volume climbing guidebook. All of this culminates in his boldest move yet—the Goliath Traverse.
Ascending out of 5,400-foot Taboose Pass Trail Head in the Owens River Valley, the Goliath climbs steeply and starkly into a saw blade of 13,000- to 14,000-foot Central Sierra mountains. After removing his shoes and fording a raging mountain stream just to reach the start of the ridge, Musiyenko assesses the road ahead from the top of Cardinal Mountain—the first summit of numberless peaks (but 60ish if you're counting) he'll need to cross before the finish line. "You look down off the ridge, and you're like, whoa—this is where it starts to get difficult," he says. From here, Musiyenko swiftly notches summits two and three on the south and north peaks of Split Mountain.
The next day, he climbs Mount Prater, Mount Bolton Brown, Ed Lane Peak and The Thumb. This is followed by eight more 13ers on the third day, followed by a dozen pinnacles that are part of the famed Palisade Crest on the fourth—where Musiyenko experiences his first seriously hairy moment.
"I'm between two giant rocks with a massive drop-off on both sides, and have to execute a dynamic cross-step to get through," he recalls. Grabbing hold of a granite fin he's about to lurch to the other side just as a gust of wind barrels into him like an invisible rogue wave. "It hits me so hard my foot swings out into space. Luckily, I'm able to hold on. But that's a real moment right there," he says.
Free solos in consistently brutal winds at 14,000 feet are now interspersed with dicey, slow-going scrambles over "kitty litter rock," as Musiyenko describes it. Even worse along this leg are "columns of shit glued together that can collapse on you at any moment if you try to stem on them," he adds. Musiyenko's final peak of the day is 14,153-foot Mount Sill, where ferocious gusts force him into a protected nook to set up his bivy. Here he'll rely on a 0.85-pound quilt to ward off the cold from a pack weighing in at just 33 pounds. That's 33 pounds for absolutely everything.
Day after day, the sunup to sundown climbing regimen routinely features treacherous terrain. But the nights are no kinder. Seeking flat spots along the exposed ridgeline, Musiyenko endures the frigid off-hours by warming up with pushups before crawling into his wafer-thin quilt. Wearing every single layer he has, his sleepless brain swirls with harrowing moments behind him—but especially with what lies ahead.
The next morning, Musiyenko awakens with intense pain, puffy eyes, swollen hands and aggravated tears in his meniscus that have caused his knee to puff up like a softball. It's day five—aka "the low point"—but he's not there quite yet. That happens after clambering up Polemonium Peak and North Palisade to the route's crux—14,009-foot Thunderbolt Peak—arriving like a midday nightmare with some of the traverse's meanest, most exposed technical terrain.
Heading up Thunderbolt he forms a crude self-belay by looping a sling around his waist, lassoing a horn with his 6mm static line, wrapping his heel around a summit block and mantling to reach the summit. The descent is a dizzying rappel down a precipitous 2,000-foot drop.
"This is where everything really starts falling apart," says Musiyenko, whose rope gets stuck while rappelling, forcing him to reclimb a portion of the mountain. Then, as he's moving toward the next peak, a washing machine-sized boulder rolls out from under his foot. Slammed to the ground, he sprains his ankle and severely scrapes his bicep. "I'd already sprained both of my ankles earlier," he says. "But after that fall on Thunderbolt Peak, I'm like—is this where the shitshow takes over my climb?"
It's at this point, Musiyenko confesses, that he momentarily contemplates aborting the mission. From here, it's just a three-hour hike back out to the road. "I can feel my body looking for a way out," he says. Still, he rules out a retreat.
"Regret. I don't wanna live with it," he explains. "This is exactly where I bailed during that first attempt. I know I'm hurt, but I also know I'm healthy enough to keep going. No way am I walking away from this unless I have an injury that needs, like, medical attention."
During the last three days of the climb, wildfires blazing in the distance add their own sort of hell to the mix. "Every day is as hazy as you can imagine," Musiyenko says. "Your body hurts. You're exhausted. And now you're breathing fucking smoke."
After ascending another eight mountains on the following day, Musiyenko can barely bend his severely swollen knee. "At this point, I'm getting pretty worried I may be permanently injured," he says. "Honestly, I just want to be done with this thing." The near-death march carries on with Mount Powell, Clyde Spires West and then aptly named Crumbly Spire, where rocks higher than three stacked refrigerators can tumble almost just by looking at them the wrong way. "This is the worst rock I've ever seen," says Musiyenko, who then hobbles over the summits of Clyde Spires East, Mount Wallace Mount Haeckel and Mount Darwin.
"At this point, I'm very close to zoning out," he recalls. Relentless discipline pushes him forward—as well as a long-held belief and observation he won't let himself forget, especially right now.
"People tend to give up whenever things get really tough and the odds start to feel almost insurmountable," he says. "When you're at that point, you just have to keep remembering that this is actually the whole point. It's supposed to be this hard. You're meant to face adversity and work through it with every inch of your mind and body."
On Musiyenko's eighth and final day, every inch of his body (and mind) aches. With a nub of a Snickers bar and three gummy worms left to eat, he pushes over more mountains—Tom Ross, Lamarck, Keyhole Plateau, Keyhole Plateau North—and eventually the final, nameless 12,600-foot summit of the Goliath Traverse, simply marked "Peak" on the map. It overlooks Piute Pass and the trail that leads him out. He reaches his car, parked there like a mirage, leans against it and sobs for 10 minutes.
"I'm feeling liberated from this multiyear obsession," he says about those tears. "I'm excited too, of course, but mainly it's this relief that I've made it through. Going into something this long and difficult is totally overwhelming, but you can't lose composure when you keep getting smacked," he adds, tapping into a favorite Mike Tyson quote about how everyone has a plan until they get punched in the mouth.
Soon after our meeting in Yosemite, Musiyenko starts prepping for his first trip to Nepal, where he hopes to either complete a new route on Mount Nuptse (25,791 feet) or repeat the massive 8,000-foot Moonlight Sonata route on the peak's southeast buttress.
Picture this: You're sailing on a yacht in the Caribbean, you step out on deck to get some fresh air in the middle of the night, and you fall overboard. Fortunately, you wash ashore on a picturesque private island. Once there, you get entertained by the island's wealthy owner, then are set free to explore. There's just one catch: The owner is a psychopath, he loves to hunt, and you are the animal he's hunting. Sound familiar? That's the rough premise for The Most Dangerous Game, the famed short story published in 1924 and later adapted into a film in the 1930s. Nearly a century later, the story is once again being adapted for the big screen, and the first trailer for the new version just dropped today.
The 2022 remake of The Most Dangerous Game introduces a slight twist on the classic story: According to Deadline, it opens with a father and son washing ashore on the private island after their ship capsizes. They soon meet the island's owner, Baron Von Wolf, and he helpfully lays out their predicament: The island is his private game preserve where he hunts human beings. Not exactly an idyllic island escape. The only thing worse than being hunted by a maniac with a rifle might be listening to him talk—Baron Von Wolf is played by Casper Van Dien, and his accent sounds absolutely ridiculous.
Van Dien is joined by castmates Tom Berenger, Chris "CT" Tamburello, Bruce Dern (a two-time Oscar nominee), and Judd Nelson (you might recognize him from the '80s classic The Breakfast Club). As father and son try to escape with their lives, they encounter Berenger's character, an older man who has been hiding out on the island and is slowly going insane. Helpful!
As you'd expect, the trailer shows plenty of intense action and fight scenes as the human "prey" work to evade their captor. The performances don't exactly look Oscar-caliber, but if you're a fan of the story—or the '30s film—it's definitely worth a watch. You can view the full trailer above.
The Most Dangerous Game premieres in select theaters and on demand on Aug. 5.

I've noticed recently that the term "motivation" has fallen out of favor. It went from being the favorite word of influencers everywhere to now being persona non grata for anyone trying to help people reach their potential. They say it's fleeting. It's weak. It won't stand up to pressure. That if you rely on it, you will undoubtedly fail. But, I think that status is undeserved. I'm not ready to let it go, and I'll tell you why.
The Popular Definition of Motivation V the Actionable Definition of Motivation
The definition of "motivation" is "the general desire or willingness of someone to do something." And, yeah, if you rely on that, you won't get anywhere near your objective. I pretty much haven't wanted to do most of the things I've done. I didn't particularly want to pull on oars until I felt like puking, or get on my bike when it was 10 degrees and snowing, or run a marathon after I had just run 30 in a row. I didn't want to do any of that. I had low motivation.
Here's the thing, though. There's a second definition, and that is, "The reason or reasons one has for acting or behaving in a particular way." That's what got me out of bed and moving in the morning in those previous examples. I was trying to win a medal in the Paralympics. I was raising money for veteran charities. I was trying to create a story that anybody who's struggling can use to overcome their difficulties. That was my motivation. That's where all these other words people like to use now come from. Discipline. Consistency. Attitude. Willpower. All of them.
So, when the first definition is failing you, and you don't feel like it. Think about that second definition. In other words, when you lack motivation, rely on your motivation.
Now, as we say in the Marine Corps, "stay motivated, motivator!"
Retired Marine Sergeant Rob Jones is a former combat engineer with the U.S. Marines. Rob served two tours in Iraq and Afghanistan between 2008 and 2010. In 2010, he was struck and injured by a land mine, resulting in a double above-the-knee leg amputation. After retiring from the Marine Corps, Rob trained for the 2012 Paralympics in rowing, bringing home a Bronze Medal in the double sculls event. In 2013, he rode his bicycle 5,200 miles across the United States from Maine to Camp Pendleton, California. In the fall of 2017, Rob completed a month-long, back-to-back marathon challenge, running 31 marathons in 31 days in 31 different major cities. Along with providing perspective on the capabilities of all wounded veterans, Rob and his team raised over $350,000 for veteran charities.

I am a 44-year-old mother of two who owns two small businesses, works as a 1099 for three different companies, trains Brazilian jiu-jitsu, and serves as a lieutenant colonel in the U.S. Army Reserve. Not many men could be married to me, but thankfully, I only needed to find one. After 18 years together, I know my husband possesses many special skills, but perhaps his best is knowing how to support a driven woman.
In 2015, when I was attending Ranger School, all of the students had an eight-hour pass between the completion of the first phase and the start of the second. Of the three females remaining in the first integrated course, I was the only one who was in a steady relationship. As everyone was released for the day, I noticed several students were hanging around the parking lot with their families. Since Allan, my husband, hadn't arrived yet, I walked up to the group of 20-somethings and asked why they were still there. I was 37 at the time and occasionally took on a "nurturing" role with these young men. One brave soul piped up and finally said, "Jaster, we're really curious what kind of guy would marry you."
Although many women would find that statement offensive, I got it. These men had literally slept in foxholes, gone into "mock battles," and endured the most grueling experiences of their lives with me, a middle-aged woman, by their side. They had never met a woman like me before and weren't sure what to make of me. I later heard the term "unicorn" thrown around to describe me. I never agreed with that moniker. The true fairytale creature is my husband, a guy who supports ambitions like mine without letting them get under his skin.
As Allan, my better half, rolled up and unfurled his six-foot nine-inch muscular frame from the rental, each remaining soldier punched my shoulder or winked as they rolled out with their families. My husband's physical stature answered their question perfectly.
What makes us work, surprisingly enough has nothing to do with the fact that Allan is a tall Marine, but rather has a lot to do with his attitude. He's secure and confident in who he is and what he got himself into when he bent a knee with a ring in his hand. There are two major things, among many, that make us work: He celebrates my success and challenges me at every turn.
Celebrate Her Success
As newlyweds, it was easy to build each other up. Allan supported my crazy endeavors without blinking an eye. We were able to ebb and flow into each other's lives being there for the important moments while also being able to focus on our individual goals. But once we introduced kids into the equation, we had to start a new prioritization process. It's one thing to take turns in the lead when you're both pulling hard on the proverbial reins, but it's another to feel like the team behind you truly wants to see you succeed. Allan has a very succinct way of expressing that support. He simply says, "I had sense enough to pick her." That allows him to take a bit of credit for my success without taking away from the work I put in. He knows my success is his success and vice versa.
In our home, Allan has always been my biggest supporter and often my biggest critic as well. He pats me on the back, picks me up when I fall, and also holds me accountable. After leaving the active Army, I joined corporate America and started a successful career. Without his support, I might have opted for a less challenging option, which ultimately could have kept him from feeling comfortable enough to start his own business at the same time we were starting a family.
He made a point to remind me that my efforts in my job were appreciated and that each promotion helped us get closer to the professional freedom we yearned for. During that time, I traveled over 25 percent of the time, often out of the country for a week at a time, leaving him to care for our newborn. When I would call home, he didn't greet me with a list of challenges or complaints about me being gone. He thanked me for my sacrifice and told me that he was holding down the fort.
As time went on and I was no longer happy working for a large corporation, Allan not only made it easy for me to leave the successful career I had built; he practically pushed me to do so. And that leads to the second critical way to support a strong spouse…challenge them.
Challenge Her
Getting up for a big moment or event is one thing. Excellence day in and day out is another. Success is about consistency and continually pushing your limits. A spouse that is willing to challenge you and push you to continue to keep driving forward is the only kind of significant other that could gain and keep my respect. I needed a man who would challenge the status quo and call me out when I got complacent. I found a great job and was making really good money. We had great benefits and a lovely life. Although I wasn't resting on my laurels, I was beginning to get stagnant.
Allan pushed hard for long time to get his business to a place where our family of four could live beyond a "comfortable" life. Now, he recognized that it was time for our roles to reverse. He was the steady income while I swung for the fences with a very ambitious career plan. Now I have two LLCs, a crazy work-life unbalance, and more freedom personally and professionally than I could have ever dreamed of because Allan forced me to challenge my situation.
It's not just in business that Allan pushes me. He urged me to compete in CrossFit for years and now gives me gentle nudges about earning my blackbelt in jiu-jitsu. Many of my training partners and friends, like the soldiers at Ranger School, are bemused that my husband encourages me to train and grapple with sweaty dudes. What they don't understand is he wants me to reach my potential in every aspect of my life: mind, body, and spirit. He's the type of man who understands that all of the opportunities in the world are outside of an individual's comfort zone and if given an out or the ability to relax, people become complacent and only become a fraction of the person they could be. He knows he didn't marry that shadow of a person and enjoys pushing me to be the best version of myself. To be honest, his need for me to push the limits makes him all that much more attractive to me.
As a strong woman, I don't need my partner, I want him. And that desire is stronger if it feels like we're continually challenging ourselves and each other. It's even better if I feel like he's still trying to impress me. Other people might find the subtle ways we push each other off-putting, but that's how alphas stay in the lead. I love that we still debate policy, the impact of current events on our respective branches of the military, and how to properly incorporate new technologies into our lives.
The biggest obstacle here when both are pushing hard is understanding who's goals best nest with the team's ultimate end state. Every alpha knows that being in the lead means you want to stay in the lead. It can often hurt a person's ego to give up the front position—even if it is to the love of their life. In all truth, his success is our success and so is mine, but when my success puts our family in a better position, it's important that my husband can find joy in celebrating me. It's not a zero-sum game. If I win, he doesn't lose. He wins when I win. All ships rise.
Although Allan's size and demeanor is intimidating, that's not what makes it possible for him to have an alpha by his side while maintaining his confidence and masculinity. The bottom line is a real man can revel in the glory of his wife's accomplishments while simultaneously pushing her to work harder.

Although it's a recent addition to the Ontario market. I've enjoyed this great accessible dry rosé in rather substantial quantities throughout the years when visiting Languedoc, indeed it was usually my beverage of choice at the Convenanza festival in Carcassonne.
When I say that this wine overdelivers, it certainly does. While it doesn't have quite the same complexities and definition as Bertrand's terrific Grenache/Cinsault/Syrah Côte des Roses Rosé, which comes in at $5 more, it's a most enjoyable wine in its own right.
Produced solely from Grenache (Gris and Noir), this is a simpler (and much paler) wine for sure, but damn, this stuff is so pleasurable to knock back it is, quite frankly, astonishing. Dangerous stuff.
Crafted in a more reductive style, the nose is quite reserved but there are very attractive subtle nuances of soft warm berries, fennel, quince, and fine herbes. The palate is slightly lees-influenced, but bone-dry and savoury, with a deliciously seductive mineral/saline profile.
Surely welcome addition to any social gathering this summer, it was so lovely to taste (and write about) this wine after that simply ghastly Chilean rosé I tasted last week.

We're less than two weeks from the Thor: Love and Thunder premiere, a movie that might have much lower stakes than the previous MCU films but might turn out to be more entertaining to fans. It also helps that the full Thor: Love and Thunder plot didn't leak months early like with Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and Spider-Man: No Way Home.
These are the MCU movies that preceded Thor 4, delivering two big but imperfect multiverse stories that might impact the overarching storyline more than Love and Thunder will. But that doesn't mean Thor 4 won't have its own share of tragedy.
Marvel hosted the Love and Thunder red carpet premiere last week. And while we didn't see any big Thor 4 plot spoilers before the premiere, everything leaked online after the event. Mind you, legitimate Love and Thunder spoilers will follow below.
In his latest newsletter, Bloomberg's Mark Gurman discussed all of the products Apple plans to ship in the coming months. The iPhone 14 is what we are most excited to see, but it's just one of many devices Apple will unveil this fall. We also expect to see the Apple Watch Series 8, but according to Gurman, it won't be faster than its predecessor.
The biggest band in the world right now is Korean. Some of the biggest TV shows in the world, like Netflix's Squid Game, are likewise Korean -- and, in the opening moments of Netflix's newly released Money Heist: Korea, these tidal waves of Korean pop culture intersect in such a way as to immediately distinguish this reimagining of Money Heist from its Spanish-language predecessor and to ground it in the here and now.
The show opens by introducing us to an enthusiastic, headphone-wearing member of ARMY, the name of the fandom associated with K-pop group BTS. This particular fan is a North Korean university student shown dancing to DNA, the lead single from BTS' 2017 release Love Yourself: Her. She goes on to confess how much she loves K-pop and K-dramas (which, incidentally, Netflix has been as responsible as any service for popularizing around the globe).
What sets this member of BTS' ARMY apart from other fans around the world, however, is that she has to enjoy the group's music in secret. Also, this member of the BTS ARMY from Pyongyang's Kim Il-Sung University goes on to join an actual army (the DPRK's). And, eventually, she falls in with a group of thieves planning the mother of all heists.
Quadcopter drones are great, but they can also be quite expensive. That's why you definitely need to check out the best drone deal on Amazon right now.
Finding a good option that won't break the bank can be a daunting task. Even when they're on sale, prices are often still high. A good example is the $400 DJI Mavic Mini, which is on sale for just $294 right now on Amazon. That's a huge discount by DJI standards and you should definitely snag one if it's in your budget. Unfortunately, many people in search of a new drone are looking to spend much less than that.
You might not realize that there are some really great options out there that are remarkably affordable. And that's especially true when there are awesome sales to take advantage of at Amazon.
The retailer has a super-popular model called the Tomzon D30 4K Camera Drone and it typically sells for $150. But an MSRP decrease and an Amazon coupon slash the price to $109.99. That's a fantastic price for such an awesome camera drone.
Amazon's best drone deal of 2022
Drones are terrific for professionals and hobbyists alike, especially when they're equipped with high-quality cameras. Whether you're filming aerial footage for a video or you just want to stream live footage to your smartphone as you soar through the air, there's nothing quite like a quadcopter to get the job done.
Of course, professional-grade quadcopters with ultra-high-quality cameras can be shockingly expensive. That cost used to be prohibitive for most people without a true professional need for a camera drone. But now, there are so many options out there for hobbyists as well.
What's more, sales on sites like Amazon make awesome little drones like the popular Tomzon D30 4K Camera Drone more affordable than ever.
Tomzon's popular D30 drone checks all the boxes you might want to check. That's especially true if you're looking to have a blast with a high-quality camera drone. It's not a professional-grade quadcopter, of course, but it's also not going to cost you an arm and a leg. Instead, the reasonable $100 retail price gets you a wonderfully compact drone that folds to become even smaller when it's not in use.
Despite its diminutive size, the D30 still packs a 4K camera and a nice big battery. And once the charge starts running low, you can pop in the second battery that comes with this model for free. Now, you can enjoy twice as much action.
The old $150 price tag is more than fair. But you won't pay anywhere near that much if you pick one up today. Clip the coupon on the product page and your final price will be just $109.99!
Before we send you over to Amazon to take advantage of this great deal, however, there is one warning we need to give you.
We aren't sure how long this will last. But last time we covered a similar Tomzon deal, it sold out long before the sale was scheduled to end. We told our readers about this deal over the summer, and hundreds of D30 drones were sold in just a few days. In other words, this deal could definitely disappear before you know it. After all, it's the best drone deal on Amazon right now.
Apple unveiled the M2 System-on-Chip in early June, with the chip powering the 2022 13-inch MacBook Pro and redesigned MacBook Air. The first reviews for the M2 MacBook Pro already confirmed Apple's claims surrounding performance and efficiency gains. Moreover, variations of the M2 should power future Mac and MacBooks. And if a new report is accurate, Apple's first-gen AR/VR headset will feature powerful specs: the M2 chipset combined with 16GB of RAM.
Sony's hotly-anticipated next-generation Sony WH1000XM4 headphones were finally released a couple of years ago. And now, upgraded Sony WH1000XM5 headphones are here. Unfortunately for shoppers on a budget, however, they're both quite expensive. Thankfully, there's a Sony WH1000XM3 price cut on Amazon that's going to save you a bundle.
Newer Sony WH1000XM4 headphones cost $350 and they're worth every penny if you have that kind of money to spare. But before you order a pair, there's another option you should know about. Amazon is offering a huge discount on Sony WH1000XM3 wireless noise cancelling headphones if you know where to find a secret hidden deal.
First and foremost, the WH1000XM4 model is definitely an upgrade compared to the previous-generation WH1000XM3 ANC headphones. But not necessarily in all the ways you think.
Sony didn't make any big changes like adding new drivers or changing the tuning. In fact, there aren't even any groundbreaking changes to the beloved noise cancelling tech Sony uses.
Instead, you get minor tweaks to ANC, support for multiple device connections, wearing detection, and 5 mics for improved voice call quality. You also get Sony's DSEE Extreme upscaling tech, which is definitely appreciated (if you even know what it is and you utilize it).
Those are all great updates and you get them all for the same price Sony charges for the WH1000XM3 model. What you have to ask yourself, however, is if those upgrades are worth $150.
Today, there's a hidden Amazon sale that isn't being marketed or advertised anywhere. And it slashes the beloved Sony WH1000XM3 headphones to just $201.95, crushing Prime Day's price from last year.
That's right... these amazing headphones cost less right now than they did on Black Friday!
Amazon's new deal matches Prime Day!
These Sony cans are definitely among the best wireless ANC headphones on the planet, of course. So it's easy to see why a deep discount like this would get people so excited.
The bad news is that this is a limited-time deal on Amazon. We have no idea how long it'll stick around. In fact, now that the cat is out of the bag, there's even a possibility that Amazon's sale will sell out.
In other words, get in on the action now if you want to get your hands on insanely good Sony ANC headphones at the lowest price of the year.
The only thing to note is that this is the international version of these Sony headphones. That means the seller offers the warranty instead of the manufacturer. As you can see from thousands of Amazon reviews though, people are more than happy with them so far.
Here are some things to keep in mind if you're considering these awesome headphones:
Sony's industry-leading noise cancelling technology has been lauded by reviewers and audiophiles around the world
Enjoy a virtually soundproof experience that is fully customizable and tunable in the free Sony smartphone app
Built-in mic lets you make hands-free phone calls
Support for Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant gives you voice access to all your music and other voice commands
Access your voice assistant with a single touch
Gesture support adds great features to these headphones — for example, cover the right ear cup with your hand to enter quick attention mode, which turns down the volume on your music for quick conversations
Touch control lets you swipe and tap to switch tracks, adjust the volume, and take phone calls
A single charge provides up to 30 hours of playtime, even with noise cancelling enabled
Sony's exclusive dedicated HD Noise-Canceling Processor QN1 powers the class-leading ANC on these headphones

If you've ever seen a robot lawn mower before, you probably dreamed of getting one but decided against it because they're priced well out of reach for many people. You're in luck today, however, because Amazon is offering a crazy deal on the popular WORX WR147 Landroid M robot lawn mower that drops this top-rated model to its lowest price ever.
The WORX Landroid M is one of the best robot lawn mowers available right now. It's able to mow up to 1/4 acre of lawn at a time on its own. Just set it up once and you won't have to worry about mowing your lawn for the rest of the season!
On top of this great deal, there are other models on sale too. It doesn't matter if you need to cut a 1/4 acre yard or 1/2 acre yard. Whatever the case, there's a model for you.
Everyone knows that robotic vacuums like the kind iRobot's Roomba brand sells are fantastic. It doesn't matter if you get an entry-level model like the Roomba 694 (now on sale for $250) or a higher-end Roomba i3+ EVO ($100 off)that can empty its own dust bin. Either way, you're going to love it. Additionally, you'll wonder how you ever lived without it.
What's not to love? Just set it up in any area of your home that needs regular cleaning. You never have to worry about vacuuming the floor on a regular basis again. That's because you'll have a robot to take care of it for you.
Now, imagine you could say the same thing about the grass in your yard. Guess what: You can.
The WORX WR147 Landroid M is one of the hottest robot mowers out there right now, and it just dropped to a new all-time low price yet on Amazon.
This model retails for $1,200, and that's how much you'll pay if you buy it from WORX. On Amazon, however, this robot lawn mower price has been cut to $1,062 for a limited time.
Today's deal actually beats Amazon's previous low price by about $10.
This model is fully automated and designed to cut lawns up to 1/4 of an acre in size all on its own.
The Landroid M is very easy to set up thanks to detailed instructions. That means you can clearly define the complete area where you want the Landroid S to mow. The WORX Landroid app has gotten better and better over the years. There are all kinds of great functions you can access.
Plus, the WORX WR147 Landroid M has an obstacle avoidance feature. This lets it move around any unforeseen objects. Trust us, your dog will thank you.
WORX's Landroid M can work its way around boxes, flower beds, gazebos, sheds, and anything else you might have in your yard. You might never have to worry about mowing the lawn or paying a landscaper again.
We absolutely loved it when we reviewed this brilliant little WORKX Landroid robot mower a few years ago. Head over to Amazon right now and you'll get this awesome gadget at the best price we've seen. In fact, this might be the best robot lawn mower price you find anywhere right now.
In addition to the entry-level WORX Landroid S, there are a few other models that are discounted right now. In fact, every WORX robot lawn mower has a price cut today on Amazon.
The WORX Landroid S robot mower is designed to work on lawns up to 1/4 of an acre. And right now, this model is down to $965 at Amazon. It's normally $1,100, so that's a nice little discount.
Then there's the WORX Landroid L, which is the top-of-the-line model. It costs $1,500, but it covers up to a 1/2 acre of grass. That's 21,780 square feet!
When choosing the right model for your yard, there's one important thing to keep in mind. We're talking about lawn sizes here, not property sizes. You might live on a 1-acre plot, but you only have 1/4 acre of grass fenced in.
Keep that in mind because you can waste a lot of money by getting the wrong model. The price difference between each robot lawn mower is fairly significant.

A new experimental cystinosis treatment has proven successful but has also had an unintended side effect. According to a report, four out of five patients who have taken part in a clinical trial to treat cystinosis have seen a change in their hair color following treatment.
When someone has cystinosis, their body builds up an abnormal amount of cystine. This amino acid created crystals, called cystine crystals, throughout the body. That buildup can affect many parts of the body. And, because it's genetic, the disease is passed down through families. Oftentimes, patients with cystinosis vomit a lot, suffer from dehydration, and can even develop more serious problems, too.

Politics is a touchy subject for many people. It can be polarizing and often causes heated debates. But one thing that most people can agree on is that politics significantly impacts our lives. In this blog post, we observed politicians like Dennis Bonnen, and we will discuss how politics affects the stock market. Remember that this is just a general overview – each situation is unique and should be analyzed on its own merits.
Current Political Climate In The US
The current political climate in the United States is shrouded in uncertainty. The ongoing trade war with China and the impeachment proceedings against former President Trump have created an atmosphere of unpredictability reflected in the stock market. Investors are generally feeling cautious, which has led to a decrease in trading activity.
Moreover, many companies are hesitant to make significant decisions while the country's future remains unclear. As a result, the stock market has become increasingly volatile, which is likely to continue as long as the political situation remains unresolved. In summary, the current political climate is hurting the stock market, which is unlikely to change soon.
Political Instability In Other Countries
Political instability in other countries can significantly impact global stock markets. When there is unrest in a country, investors may become worried about the stability of the government and the economy. This can lead to a sell-off of stocks and a decrease in the value of the country's currency. Political instability can also lead to trade disruptions and a loss of confidence in the business community, which can further damage the economy.
In recent years, we have seen political instability cause significant disruptions in stock markets worldwide. For example, the Arab Spring uprisings led to a substantial decline in stock prices in Egypt and other Middle Eastern countries. Political instability can have far-reaching consequences for the global economy, so investors must closely monitor developments in unstable countries.
The Role Of Politics In Financial Regulation
The role of politics in financial regulation is a complex and ever-evolving topic. In broad terms, financial regulation is the process by which governments oversee and manage the financial system to promote stability and prevent abusive practices. This oversight can take many forms, from setting interest rates to approving new financial products. The stock market is one key area where these regulations can significantly impact.
For example, changes to tax laws can affect the profitability of companies and, as a result, the value of their stock. Regulations governing insider trading and market manipulation can also influence stock prices. While it is impossible to predict the exact effect that politics will have on the stock market in any given year, it is clear that the two are closely intertwined.
How Politics Can Influence Consumer Confidence
Consumer confidence is a crucial indicator of economic health, and many factors, including political developments, can influence it. When consumers feel confident about the future, they are more likely to spend money, which can spur economic growth. Conversely, when consumers are worried about the future, they may reduce spending to save money.
This can ripple effect on the economy, as businesses may scale back production or lay off workers in response to decreased demand. Political developments can therefore have a significant impact on consumer confidence and spending habits. For example, during political uncertainty, such as during an election campaign or after a terrorist attack, consumers may become cautious about spending money.
However, once the situation stabilizes, confidence may quickly return, and spending may rebound. Thus, politics can be essential in shaping consumer confidence and spending patterns.
Final Thoughts
The stock market is a complex and ever-changing system, and it is affected by many factors, both domestic and international. Politics is one of the most critical factors, and it can significantly impact the market. In times of political turmoil, investors like Dennis Bonnen may become worried about the future of the country and the economy, leading to a sell-off of stocks. Political instability can also lead to trade disruptions and a loss of confidence in the business community.
When making investment decisions, it is vital to keep an eye on political developments worldwide, as they can significantly impact the stock market. By understanding how politics affects the market, you can be better at making these choices.

Watch Live: Psychedelics Activists Protest At DEA Headquarters To Demand Psilocybin Access For Terminal Patients MJ moment Activists are staging a demonstration outside of the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) headquarters in Virginia on Monday to demand that the agency allow terminally ill patients to access psilocybin therapy. The event—which is set to include civil disobedience and possible arrests—is meant to call attention to DEA's obstruction of Right to Try statutes at the federal and state level that patients and advocates say should facilitate use of psychedelics. Patients, veterans and key advocates will be participating in the demonstration. One terminally ill patient, Erinn Baldeschwiler, is involved in ongoing litigation against DEA over its refusal to give her access to psilocybin. Dr. Bronner's Magic Soaps CEO David Bronner, who has been involved in numerous drug policy reform reform campaigns, will be there. Advocates based in D.C. such as Psychedelic Medicine Coalition's Melissa Lavasani and Decriminalize Nature DC co-founder Adam Eidinger are also participating. Watch the psychedelics demonstration outside of DEA headquarters live in the video below: "To absolutely prohibit access, when state and federal law are intended to allow access, that is impermissible," Kathryn Tucker, who is representing Baldeschwiler in the legal challenge against DEA, said. "These dying patients could have immediate, substantial, and sustained relief from debilitating anxiety and depression." "Why anyone would obstruct access to that kind of relief for a dying patient is impossible to comprehend," she said. Advocates have pointed out that the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has already granted psilocybin a "breakthrough therapy" designation. In February, a Seattle doctor specializing in end-of-life care filed a formal petition with DEA challenging the government's Schedule I classification of psilocybin, the main psychoactive component of psychedelic mushrooms. The petition requests the agency to reschedule psilocybin as a less-restricted Schedule II drug, pointing to its relatively low potential for abuse and "exceptional promise in relieving debilitating symptoms in…

SAS has received a notice of conflict from the pilots' unions in Sweden, Norway and Denmark. Mediation is ongoing but if no agreement is reached before June 29, 2022, the pilots' unions will go on strike. SAS is taking precautionary measures to support customers whose flights will be impacted by a potential strike.
A potential pilot strike will have substantial impact on SAS' scheduled flights and many customers risk being impacted. Due to peak season, the availability of equivalent flights will be highly limited. Therefore, SAS is taking precautionary measures to enable customers to plan alternatives to their scheduled flight.
Option of rebooking flights to a later date
SAS offers passengers booked on SAS flights between June 27 - July 3, 2022 the option of rebooking the ticket, free of charge. Passengers can rebook to a SAS flight on another date, within the next 360 days, to the same destination if the same service class as the original ticket is available.
What travelers can do:
Not all SAS flights will be impacted by a potential strike. To see if a flight is likely to be affected, passengers can go to [länk] to check the status of their flight.
To use the option of rebooking an impacted flight, passengers are referred to My Bookings.
Passengers who booked their ticket via a Travel Agent or a Tour Operator should contact them directly.
High pressure on customer service
The potential strike is causing a high pressure on SAS' customer service and the waiting time is longer than usual. By checking the status on a reservation through SAS' self-service solutions, passengers can avoid a long wait on the phone and chat lines.
Customers will continuously receive information and updates via SMS, email and on our website. To be able to support customers impacted by a potential strike, SAS is strengthening customer service and call-centres for rebooking where possible.
SAS truly apologizes for the inconvenience this causes impacted customers.

The wakefulness-inducing drugmodafinilhas been updated with a newer version called armodafinil, which is also referred to as R-modafinil. Cephalon Inc. was the company that was responsible for the creation of armodafinil, which received approval for distribution in commercial settings in the year 2007.
Officials at Cephalon came to the conclusion that they needed to cease its research in order to make the most of the patents they held that gave them exclusive rights to manufacture
and sell Provigil®. This choice was made in spite of the fact that it was uncovered quite a few years before it was introduced to the public.
In anticipation of the patents' expiration, when it would be possible for other pharmaceutical companies to begin producing generic versions of the medicine, the company's goal was to increase its earnings to the greatest extent that was practically possible. It was decided to begin production of the third generation of the product as the date of the patent's expiration came closer. After that, the freshly promoted product would be positioned as an improvement over the one that came before it.
Armodafinil is close to Modafinil. One of the characteristics of modafinil is that it is a racemic compound. This word refers to the molecular structure of the drug's active component, which is called modafinil. There are two possible chemical arrangements of molecules that can be found in modafinil. It's possible that you're wondering, "How is it possible for a molecule to have two separate configurations? Taking a look at your hands is the quickest and easiest method to see this in your head. They are in every manner identical; the only difference is that they stand opposite one another. If you were to stack them one on top of the other, they would look correct.
In order to accomplish this, you will need to flip one of your hands over. The majority of compounds behave in the same manner. There is a version for your right hand and a one for your left hand. These are referred to as enantiomers in chemistry. Because it contains both the left and right analogues of the medication, the substance known as modafinil is known as a racemic mixture. (S)-(+)-modafinil and (R)-(-) modafinil are the names given to these two variations of the drug. The (R)-(-) enantiomer of modafinil is the only one that can be found in armodafinil; the other enantiomers are absent. This type of chemical has been given the name "enantiopure."
Both of these compounds have the same general effects on the body, and those effects are identical to one another. Both of these treatments are intended to address excessive daytime sleepiness by stimulating the waking phase of the sleep-wake cycle. This is done in an effort to lengthen the time spent awake.
Nevertheless, there are a few distinguishing characteristics that set these two medications apart
The length of time the effects last
Both of these medications have a rather long duration of effect, and there are a number of possible explanations for why this is the case. On the other hand, it is well known that the effects of armodafinil last significantly longer than those of modafinil.
In comparison, the effects of taking modafinil can continue for as long as 12 hours, while those of taking armodafinil can last for approximately 14 hours.
The beginning of the effects
The effects of armodafinil reach their maximum level much more rapidly. It takes the effects of the medicine approximately four hours to reach their peak before beginning their slow decline.
It takes modafinil roughly two hours to attain its peak effects, and those effects may linger for another two to three hours before gradually diminishing over the course of the following several hours. So people prefer to take armodafinil a little earlier than they would normally take modafinil.
Adverse reactions
Both modafinil and armodafinil are associated with the same negative side effects. On the other hand, certain adverse effects could be more or less common depending on which medication you take.
You might want to buy modafinil or buy armodafinil, but have you thought of all the online options you can get?
How can I buy Modafinil online or buy Armodafinil Online? Why should you buy Modafinil online?
It is strongly suggested that you buy Modafinil onlinebecause doing so will allow you to save a sizable amount of money while providing you with the same results as traditional purchases.
The costs of armodafinil are not inconsequential; in fact, they are fairly substantial when the tablets are purchased from a trustworthy pharmacy. In addition, insurance companies are not likely to be overly enthused about the possibility of covering a nootropic because of the potential risks involved.
It is important to keep in mind that the price is displayed in dollars; in order to convert it to the currency of your choice, you must multiply the dollar amount that is displayed.
When you buy modafinilonline from a vendor on the internet, you can expect to pay anywhere from $1.64 to $2.30 USD for each pill. This range of pricing is standard. When you realise that it is around ten times less expensive than the typical cost of armodafinil.
In addition, regardless of which online retailer you choose to use, you will be limited to purchasing Waklert or Artvigil solely from FDA approved manufacturers such as SUN Pharma and HAB Pharma, in that order.
After taking armodafinil in the form of Nuvigil, which was prescribed to me by a doctor, as well as armodafinil in its generic form, which I purchased online, I can say with absolute certainty that there is no discernible difference between the two in terms of the cognitive increase that each offers.
Therefore, if you want to purchase armodafinil at the most cost-effective rate, purchasing it online is your best alternative. This is also the case if you want to acquire it quickly. Now, what are you waiting for! Buy Modafinil no!
Following the launch of Apple's new 13-inch MacBook Pro with the M2 chip, it has been discovered that the $1,299 base model with 256GB of storage has significantly slower SSD read/write speeds compared to the equivalent previous-generation model. From a report: YouTube channels such as Max Tech and Created Tech tested the 256GB model with Blackmagic's Disk Speed Test app and found that the SSD's read and write speeds are both around 1,450 MB/s, which is around 50% slower reading and around 30% slower writing compared to the 13-inch MacBook Pro with the M1 chip and 256GB of storage. Disk Speed Test app numbers shared by Vadim Yuryev of Max Tech: 13-inch MacBook Pro (M1/256GB) Read Speed: 2,900 13-inch MacBook Pro (M2/256GB) Read Speed: 1,446 13-inch MacBook Pro (M1/256GB) Write Speed: 2,215 13-inch MacBook Pro (M2/256GB) Write Speed: 1,463 Yuryev disassembled the new 13-inch MacBook Pro and discovered that the 256GB model is equipped with only a single NAND flash storage chip, whereas the previous model has two NAND chips that are likely 128GB each. This difference likely explains why the new model has a slower SSD, as multiple NAND chips allows for faster speeds in parallel.
Prominent crypto hedge fund Three Arrows Capital has defaulted on a loan worth more than $670 million. Digital asset brokerage Voyager Digital issued a notice on Monday morning, stating that the fund failed to repay a loan of $350 million in the U.S. dollar-pegged stablecoin, USDC, and 15,250 bitcoin, worth about $323 million at today's prices. From a report: 3AC's solvency crunch comes after weeks of turmoil in the crypto market, which has erased hundreds of billions of dollars in value. Bitcoin and ether are both trading slightly lower in the last 24 hours, though well off their all-time highs. Meanwhile, the overall crypto market cap sits at about $950 billion, down from around $3 trillion at its peak in Nov. 2021. Voyager said it intends to pursue recovery from 3AC (Three Arrows Capital). In the interim, the broker emphasized that the platform continues to operate and fulfill customer orders and withdrawals. That assurance is likely an attempt to contain fear of contagion through the wider crypto ecosystem. "We are working diligently and expeditiously to strengthen our balance sheet and pursuing options so we can continue to meet customer liquidity demands," said Voyager CEO Stephen Ehrlich.
Venture capital-backed startups raised far fewer rounds of funding during the past three months than they did during the more ebullient days of late last year and early this year, according to new data from analytics firm CB Insights. From a report: Deal activity across the globe dropped 23% between the first quarter and second quarter of this year, the firm found, using data for the second quarter through June 23. That's a stark contrast to the previous quarter, where the deal count dropped only 1.4% -- and an indication that the roiling of the crypto and public markets are affecting private companies. Investors are not just writing fewer checks but also smaller ones. The total funding amount going to startups for the current quarter to date dropped 27% compared to the first quarter. Those numbers are likely to change before the second quarter is officially over in a week, but the drop appears to be more severe than the 19% CB Insights had predicted just a month ago. Late-stage companies are getting squeezed particularly hard: Funding in Series D rounds or beyond dropped 43%.
The Japanese government warned of possible power shortages Monday in the Tokyo region, asking people to conserve energy as the country endures an unusually intense heat wave. From a report: Weather officials have announced the earliest end to the annual summer rainy season since the Japan Meteorological Agency began keeping records in 1951. The rains usually temper summer heat, often well into July. The economy and industry ministry urged people living in the region serviced by the Tokyo Electric Power Co. to conserve power in the afternoon, especially when demand peaks at 4-5 p.m.
Short sellers have been ramping up their bets against tether, the world's largest stablecoin, amid a broad market selloff that has called into doubt the financial health of some crypto companies. From a report: In the past month, more traditional hedge funds have executed trades to short tether through Genesis Global Trading, one of the largest crypto brokerages for professional investors. These trades are worth "hundreds of millions" of dollars in notional value, said Leon Marshall, Genesis's head of institutional sales. He declined to be more specific. "There has been a real spike in the interest from traditional hedge funds who are taking a look at tether and looking to short it," Mr. Marshall said in an interview. Tether is a stablecoin, which are virtual currencies that are supposed to be pegged to the dollar or other national currencies, and it is the most widely traded in the world. Tether's market cap stood at about $67 billion on Friday, according to CoinMarketCap data. Genesis, which doesn't take a view on tether, said the short trades are almost exclusively put on by traditional hedge funds in the U.S. and Europe, while crypto firms -- especially those based in Asia -- have been happy to facilitate the other side of the transactions.
Dangerous viruses can remain infectious for up to three days in fresh water by hitchhiking on plastic, researchers have found. From a report: Enteric viruses that cause diarrhoea and stomach upsets, such as rotavirus, were found to survive in water by attaching to microplastics, tiny particles less than 5mm long. They remain infectious, University of Stirling researchers found, posing a potential health risk. Prof Richard Quilliam, lead researcher on the project at Stirling University, said: "We found that viruses can attach to microplastics and that allows them to survive in the water for three days, possibly longer." While previous research had been carried out in sterile settings, this is the first research into how viruses behave in the environment, Quilliam said. However, he used standard laboratory methods to determine whether viruses found on microplastics in water were infectious. "We weren't sure how well viruses could survive by 'hitchhiking' on plastic in the environment, but they do survive and they do remain infectious," he said. The findings, part of a $2.27m project funded by the Natural Environment Research Council looking at how plastics transport bacteria and viruses, concluded that microplastics enabled pathogen transfer in the environment. The paper is published in the journal Environmental Pollution. "Being infectious in the environment for three days, that's long enough to get from the wastewater treatment works to the public beach," Quilliam said. Wastewater treatment plants were unable to capture microplastics, he said. "Even if a wastewater treatment plant is doing everything it can to clean sewage waste, the water discharged still has microplastics in it, which are then transported down the river, into the estuary and wind up on the beach."
Today I learned Turkey's Scientific and Technological Research Council has a subsidiary developing a GNU/Linux distro called Pardus, "redesigned to be used in accordance with the practices and habits of users in Turkey." And this week the Free Software Foundation published a post from the proud project leader of Pardus, explaining exactly why open source was chosen in the district of Eyüpsultan (on the European side of Istanbul) and how they got it implemented: After the municipal elections held in 2014, the new administration realized (through internal financial analysis reports) that a large amount of money was being spent on licensing proprietary software. Looking to cut costs, management asked for a study to be carried out for solutions. As the Eyüpsultan municipality's IT department, we recommended to replace Microsoft Windows with Pardus GNU/Linux instead. We described our preference to transition to free software as "the desire to be independent from a company as well as the savings to be gained from cutting hefty license fees." Additionally, we spoke about how the four freedoms would improve things outside of the budget. For example, we told the administration that users, when using free software, can fully benefit from the rights they have over the programs running on their computers. We also informed everyone that, when the software they run is proprietary, it means that a company claims rights over the user, and that such a claim of ownership can place restrictions on users in how they may or may not use the software. We told them that this is unacceptable. Arguments such as these were among the deciding factors that influenced our transition to free software. The plan was presented to the municipal administration and widely accepted. The municipal administration approved the project, and in January, 2015, the Eyüpsultan municipality started using free software applications such as LibreOffice (e.g. Writer, Calc, Impress, etc.). Prior to the implementations, basic user training on LibreOffice software was provided to the personnel of the institution. Over time, users were gradually and steadily directed to free systems, and, notably, without receiving backlash from users.... Training was an important item in the transition to Pardus GNU/Linux. Besides an online support forum, they've also set up a live call center to answer questions. "I think we may be the only distribution that helps with issues via a call center." So how do they feel now about that transition, eight years later? Free software has many advantages, including flexibility, high performance, major cost savings from licensing fees, independence from any particular company, and compliance with interoperability standards. Therefore, the transition of Eyüpsultan municipality to free software has resulted in benefits that were both strategic and practical. We believe, in the near future, more organizations will need to understand the philosophy of free software and the opportunities that free software provides. The municipal budget has freed up money as a result of the moving from proprietary software to free software. The savings from the "proprietary software licenses" line of the budget was applied to the district in the form of new projects. The money goes now to, among other things, increasing the number of new parks and gardens, bicycle paths, and security cameras in the parks. Additionally, by increasing the number of classes we provide technical training, we started to provide classes in robotics and computation to young people. The Eyüpsultan municipality is now increasing the opportunities for students to further develop their personalities, abilities, goals, and self-discovery. It introduces young people to technology and encourages them to produce new technologies. One final effect of using free software? It encourages others to do the same: As a result of this brave decision, many of the Istanbul district municipalities have started working to switch or have already made the switch to the Pardus GNU/Linux operating system. Institutions in other cities of the country have also expressed growing interest by asking questions about the Pardus operating system and free software.
VentureBeat reports: Video game legend Bernie Stolar, former president of Sega of America, has passed away at the age of 75, friends said. Bernie Stolar was the first executive VP of Sony Computer Entertainment America, according to their article, and helped line up the games for the launch of the first PlayStation, eventually signing franchises like Crash Bandicoot, Ridge Racer, Oddworld Inhabitants, Spyro The Dragon and Battle Arena Toshinden. VentureBeat remembers how Stolar then became president/COO of Sega of America, helping lead the development and launch of the Sega Dreamcast (while killing development of their home video console Saturn). Stolar acquired Visual Concepts for Sega of America, which ultimately led to the creation of 2K Sports. Joining Mattel in 1999, he helped the company sell a line of videogames. But then Stolar became an adviser/director at Adscape Media, and later sold that company to Google for $23 million. The lead writer for VentureBeat's GameBeat remembers what happened next — and what he'd learned after interviewing Stolar in 2015: "There was no interest in games at Google at the time," Stolar said. "I went to the CEO, who was Eric Schmidt, and said, 'Why don't we put advertising in all these games and give them away for free online?' He said, 'We're not in the game business." I said, 'We're not going into the game business. We're not developing games. We're taking games from publishers and streaming those through our online network.' He wouldn't do it. That's when I knew I should leave the company...." Toward the end of our interview in 2015, Stolar said, "I've been doing this since 1980. I love this business. I love it because I get to work with people who are young and passionate. I'm one of the old gray-haired guys in the industry, but it's wonderful to work with all this young talent." Stolar joked he could be the grandfather for the CEOs he was advising. I asked Stolar how long he would work. "Put it this way. I've spoken to two individuals about this, Sumner Redstone and Rupert Murdoch," he said. "They're both in their 80s. They're both multi-billionaires. They certainly don't have to work, right? And they've both said to me, 'If you retire, you die.' I believe that. My father, when he sold his liquor store and stopped working, passed away three months later. I'm not going to stop."
SFGate calls it "the most technologically advanced ride Disney has ever opened." The 18-minute journey involves a secret rebel base, interrogation from the First Order, uncomfortably close brushes with Kylo Ren and a daring rescue mission, and has sophisticated animatronics and a trackless ride system unlike anything else currently in Disneyland. With all of those moving parts, though, the ride breaks down frequently. "Rise of the Resistance" can sometimes break down multiple times a day, often for long stretches. The ride already has modifications for minor breaks, like a scene with a Kylo Ren animatronic that has a "b mode" where a broken piece of wall blocks off the malfunctioning Ren and he's shown on a screen instead. A room with cannons that dart out between ride cars has stopped the cannons from moving because they caused so many ride breakdowns. But still, even with those fixes, larger problems happen. In fact, earlier this week, one Disneyland guest reported getting evacuated from Rise three times in the same day. "I've been on RoR 3 times today and have been evacuated every time," the person posted on Reddit. "Send thoughts and prayers!" The article also cites data from the theme-park site Thrill Data, which estimates the ride's historical wait time average is 105 minutes — but which can shoot up after breakdowns to two or three hours. The maximum wait time ever recorded was six hours and six minutes.
"Researchers at Tsinghua University in China have developed a new drug cocktail that can convert cells into totipotent stem cells, the very seeds of life..." writes New Atlas: Not all stem cells are created equal — they sit in a branching hierarchy of differentiation potential. Multipotent stem cells are found in many tissues in adults, where they can turn into a few types of cells associated with that tissue or organ to help healing. A step earlier in the development tree are pluripotent stem cells, which are found in embryos and can become almost any type of cell in the body. But at the top of the chain sit what are known as totipotent stem cells, which can become any cell in the body as well as supportive tissues like the placenta. These mark the very beginning of development, including the first single cell that forms from a fertilized egg, and they persist for the first few stages of development. After that, the cells differentiate into pluripotent stem cells and further specialize into all the cells of the body as it develops. In recent years scientists have been able to take adult cells and induce a pluripotent state in them, which forms the basis of research into stem cell regenerative medicine. But in the new study, the Tsinghua team took things a step further, returning pluripotent stem cells to a totipotent state for the first time... This breakthrough could open up some major new opportunities, the team says. In the long run, scientists could potentially create a living organism straight from a mature cell, sidestepping the need for sperm and eggs. That could help people have children who otherwise couldn't, or aid conservation of endangered species. The researchers do acknowledge, however, that ethical concerns will no doubt arise. Thanks to long-time Slashdot reader hackingbear for sharing the news.
This week Amazon announced that "Approximately 1,500 local Amazon employees will operate and work with innovative robotics technology" at a new fulfillment center that's a first of its kind for Central New York. Amazon's press release says they've created 39,000 jobs in New York since 2010 — and "invested over $14 billion in the state of New York" — though they're counting what they paid workers as "investing" (as well as what they paid to build Amazon's infrastructure). Long-time Slashdot reader theodp writes: In 2019, Onondaga County (New York) officials unanimously approved $71 million in tax breaks to support the development of a giant warehouse in the Town of Clay... "I am very excited to see this tremendous investment in Central New York coming to fruition," said U.S. Representative John Katko. "The new Fulfillment Center will be revolutionary for our region, creating over 1,500 jobs and making significant contributions to the local economy." Driving home Katko's point, the press release added, "In April of 2021, Amazon furthered its commitment to invest in education programs that will drive future innovation in the communities it serves by donating $1.75 million to construct a new STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math) high school in Onondaga County. Amazon's donation will fund robotics and computer science initiatives at the new school [presumably using Amazon-supported curriculum providers]." Unlike Amazon's Fulfillment Center, the new STEAM high school is unlikely to open before Fall 2023 at the earliest, as the $74-million-and-counting project (that Amazon is donating $1.75M towards) to repurpose a school building that has sat empty since 1975 has experienced delays and cost increases. Amazon's press release notes the company also donated $150,000 to be "the presenting sponsor" for the three-day Syracuse Jazz Fest. And it also touts Amazon's support for these other central New York organizations (without indicating the amount contributed): Rescue Mission Alliance: Working to end homelessness and hunger in greater Syracuse. Milton J. Rubenstein Museum of Science and Technology (MOST): Supporting the "Be the Scientist" program for Syracuse-area public school students to visit the museum and learn about STEM careers and sponsor planetarium shows for area students.
