| Red Cross opens vax center to the public Posted: 23 Jun 2022 03:49 AM PDT THE Zamboanga chapter of the Philippine Red Cross (PRC) has opened its vaccination center to accommodate individuals from all priority groups for inoculation against coronavirus disease (Covid-19).The move of the PRC-Zamboanga Chapter came after they received donations of 300 vials of Moderna vaccine from the Ayala Group of companies for the residents of Zamboanga City.The donated Moderna vaccines have an equivalent of 3,000 doses.The PRC-Zamboanga Chapter vaccination center, which was open to the public since Wednesday, June 22, is located at its headquarters along Rizal Street in Zone 4 village, just across the City Health Office.The local PRC chapter said in a statement that they will accommodate walk-in eligible individuals from all priority groups for primary doses (first and second doses), including first and second booster doses.Meanwhile, Mayor Maria Isabelle Climaco-Salazar has thanked the Ayala Group of Companies for the donation and the PRC-Zamboanga Chapter for facilitating and continuously supporting the local government in response to Covid-19.Salazar said that the opening of the local PRC vaccination center will boost the inoculation activity of this city. | Zambo village gets P6.8-M project Posted: 23 Jun 2022 03:49 AM PDT THE Zamboanga City Government has completed the construction of the P6.8-million infrastructure project for the village of Labuan, Zamboanga City.The project, a multi-purpose hall, was turned over Wednesday, June 22, by Mayor Maria Isabelle Climaco-Salazar to the village council of Labuan.On behalf of the council, Labuan Village Chairperson Ronald Maravilla received the project from Salazar in a simple turnover ceremony.Salazar said the project is intended for outdoor activities such as assemblies or gatherings and even for sports and recreational purposes.The project was implemented upon consultation with the barangay officials, Salazar said.The fund of the project forms part of the 2019 Annual Budget of the city.The multi-purpose hall project was undertaken by a private contractor under the supervision of the City Engineer's Office.(SunStar Zamboanga) |
| 3 nabbed, P5.6-M undocumented cigarettes seized Posted: 23 Jun 2022 03:39 AM PDT GOVERNMENT operatives have arrested three people as they intercepted a boat loaded with P5.6 million worth of smuggled cigarettes in the province of Sulu, the police reported Thursday, June 23, 2022.Police Colonel Richard Verceles, operations chief of the Area Police Command-Western Mindanao (APC-WM), said arrested were Alman Hassan, boat skipper, and two crewmen, namely, Rajim Alih and Mudzmar Habibul Ajijul.Verceles said the trio were arrested when policemen intercepted a motorboat loaded with smuggled cigarettes around 9:30 p.m. Wednesday off Indanan, Sulu.The police team led by personnel of the Sulu Maritime Police Station seized from the motorboat 189 master cases of assorted undocumented cigarettes worth P5.6 million, according to Verceles.He said the arrested crew, motorboat and contrabands were placed under the custody of the Sulu Maritime Police Station for proper disposition.(SunStar Zamboanga) |
