Inflation is at it again, and this time, it's hitting households in their energy bills. The year-over-year inflation rate for energy services (including gas and electricity) hit nearly 20% in September. And it could get worse. People who rely on natural gas to heat their homes — about 47% of American households, according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration — could see costs increase as much as 28% this winter, according to the agency. Still other households rely on electricity produced by burning natural gas.
