Local Alert: D.C. City Council withdraws revision to District’s criminal code in hopes of avoiding a disapproval vote in U.S. Senate

The bill already was disapproved by the House, and President Biden said he would not stop the disapproval if the Senate also voted that way. D.C. home rule advocates were concerned that disapproval would deal a blow to their statehood efforts.
