Politics Alert: Florida and two other GOP-led states quit group that helps maintain voter registration lists, threatening its prospects

The defections from a little-known consortium that helps keep voter rolls updated and free of opportunities for fraud add to the turmoil at the organization. The Electronic Registration Information Center (ERIC) has been straining lately under the weight of accusations and misinformation from election deniers.
