| | Let's Talk About Productivity. When you hear the word 'productivity,' you probably think about sitting down and working or studying effectively. But the truth is that the concept of productivity can apply to every aspect of how we live our lives. Productivity is a measure of performance that gauges effectiveness of our output in relation to the resources and time expended. In essence, how well we do things. You can be at the gym for 3 hours and spend 2 hours of that time mingling and looking at your phone, or you can get your 45-minute workout in with minimal rest-breaks and probably achieve way better results. Of course there's nothing wrong with mingling at the gym and taking your time if that's what you enjoy, but the example illustrates the concept of productivity well. The ultimate goal of "being more productive" is being intentional about what you'd like to see happen in your life, and bringing that reality to fruition with your actions. There are a few necessary components to making that happen: 1. Having a clear understanding of the goals or outcomes you want to achieve. 2. Making sure your proposed actions align with the end goals. 3. Finding unwavering focus as often as possible (eliminating distractions that take you further from your goal and consistently performing actions that help you reach it). This week, take some time to ask yourself: What are my goals? Do I know exactly how I'm working towards meeting those goals?
