In parenting today, we have a teen daughter who says she has goals, but doesn't do anything to work toward them (and a frustrated parent, of course). Our Meghan Leahy offers up some guidance that we all could use, even if this isn't our exact situation. Phyllis Fagell's piece about helping kids learn how to stand up against hate is an important one these days because, well, these days. How do you handle "these days" with your kids? How do you talk to them about climate, banned books, hate incidents, guns? As I say to friends when we're discussing our latest issue: Parenting isn't for wimps. We usually laugh a little and then the conversation veers toward a good thing, a good conversation, a little win.
