Technology Alert: V Pappas, TikTok’s senior U.S. executive, steps down after guiding the company to global preeminence

In an email to employees that they posted to Twitter, Pappas, now the company's chief operating officer, recalled that they had taken a gamble on an unknown social media platform five years ago when they joined TikTok. Now, they wrote, TikTok has become a household name with more than a billion users globally.
