"Who's taking care of the caregivers?" a friend asked me at one point during the height of the pandemic. There was no answer, and surely, I thought, we're going to feel repercussions from this for years to come. Today, a Harvard team released a new study that backed up what many of us have already guessed: Parents are suffering from depression and anxiety about as much as their teens are. And, of course, moms are a bit worse off. The report came with some good ideas on how we can work to alleviate mental health issues among both kids and their caregivers, working in tandem.
