ACTING City Health Officer Dr. Lorraine Nery said Tuesday, March 23, that they have already sent a list of contact tracers in Cagayan de Oro who will undergo the free contact tracing training program of the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (Tesda).

Tesda has urged anew all local government units to avail themselves of the program due to the surge in coronavirus disease (Covid-19) cases in the country.

"We received a communication gikan sa DILG (Department of the Interior and Local Government) and among nabasa ang mo-conduct ani... it is under the program sa Local Government Academy and this is in coordination with Tesda," Nery said.

"Kita sa LGU sa Cagayan de Oro, nagpadala na ta og lista sa atong mga contact tracers nga atong ipa avail pud ani sa kani nga program," she added.

According to Nery, they also received letters from other Tesda-accredited facilities in Cagayan de Oro, offering free training program to the city's contact tracers.

It can be recalled that Tesda started offering free contact tracing program in September 2020 to support the country's fight against the spread of Covid-19.

Based on the raw data gathered from the published reports of the agency's regional and provincial offices, at least 332 Tesda scholars have completed their training on Contact Tracing Level II from September 2020 to March 2021.
