Mayor warns vs LGU officials who will jump Covid vaccine line Posted: 24 Mar 2021 05:16 PM PDT CAGAYAN de Oro City Mayor Oscar Moreno on Wednesday, March 24, issued a stern warning to City Government officials who jumped and will jump the line in the coronavirus disease (Covid-19) vaccination program. "I will not spare anyone. Warning na ni. Nahitabo na dinhi sa City Hall. Naay department nga nakalusot under the guise of substitution," Moreno said. He said he will have the issue investigated, adding that he asked the head of the department involved to explain. "We will not allow kanang ing-ana," Moreno said. "There is no discretion here, this is a duty on our part. It's not as if kami magbuot kinsay unahon pagbakuna. No, we are all public servants. That has to be clearly understood," he added. Moreno said that while he understood that everyone wants to be vaccinated, the priority list should still be followed. He said that if government officials jumping the line in the vaccination program is tolerated, it will cause the loss of trust in the system and the public will no longer cooperate. "That's the last thing the government should allow to happen, when people begin to lose trust on you," Moreno said. Meanwhile, Moreno urged the city's health sector to improve its vaccination rollout. Moreno said if the vaccines allocated by the Department of Health (DOH) is lacking, he will write a request letter to vaccine czar Secretary Carlito Galvez for more.
