TOURISTS and locally stranded individuals (LSIs) coming from Metro Manila and its adjacent areas are prohibited from entering Western Visayas from March 22 to April 4.

The regional offices the Department of Tourism (DOT) and Department of Health (DOH) bared this in two separate advisories issued Monday, March 22.

DOT-Western Visayas Director Helen Catalbas said all the local chief executives and the accredited establishments in the region were advised that outbound travel is not allowed for those from the NCR and its travel bubble circuit.

These include the provinces of Bulacan, Cavite and Laguna.

"Be aware and make necessary preparations for cancellation of bookings or rebooking plans and waive rebooking fees to promote goodwill," said Catalbas.

Dr. Emilia Monicimpo, regional director of the DOH, said the regional Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) had agreed that only essential travelers are allowed to travel in and out of the region from March 22 to April 4.

Essential travelers include the health and emergency personnel, government officials and frontliners, approved humanitarian assistance actors, persons traveling for personal or humanitarian reasons, persons going abroad, anyone crossing zones for business purposes and returning overseas Filipino workers.

Monicimpo said individuals from Bulacan, Laguna and Cavite and the NCR whose purpose is for vacation or leisure are not allowed to enter Western Visayas. (SunStar Philippines)
