Alliance group urges Duterte to run for vice president in 2022 elections Posted: 27 Mar 2021 07:55 AM PDT A MULTI-SECTORAL alliance composed of various civic groups will be holding a caravan on Sunday, March 28, 2021, showing their support for the current administration, as well as their call for President Rodrigo Duterte to run as vice president in the 2022 elections. The multi-sectoral alliance is composed of the Orig Roa Clan, Duterte Clan, Outkast, Go Bong Go Movement, PRRD Coalition, Iligan Group, Navarra Nation Eagles PH, S&R, Daltans Riders Group, Dagan Day Sara, One Criminology Philippines, ONE CDO-UPDG, Friends of Rodrigo Duterte (FORD), Triskelions Grand Fraternity/TAU GAMMA PHI, Sara Truckers, Braveheart Dragonboat Team, Alpha Kappa Rho, Mayor Sara Duterte Alliance, Structural Alternative Legal Assistance Group, and Kahugpungna Federal Movement. According to Elvira Go of the Go Bong Go Movement, the aforementioned groups have united to urge Duterte to run for vice president in the 2022 elections, saying that his leadership is what the country needed. Dean Gerry Caño of One Criminology Philippines said Duterte's kind of political will is needed in the country. The caravan, to be conducted on Duterte's 76th birthday, is set to kick off at 8 a.m. at the Rodelsa Circle, going to the western part western part of the city ending in Barangay Bulua, traversing the national highway then going all the way tot he eastern part of the city before going back to the Rodelsa Circle for a short program. 10 Kagay-anons contract coronavirus Posted: 27 Mar 2021 07:54 AM PDT THE City Health Office in Cagayan de Oro on Saturday, March 27, 2021, noted another drop in the number of new coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) cases as the city recorded 10 new cases. This brought the cumulative number of confirmed infections in Cagayan de Oro to 4,070. According to Acting City Health Officer Dr. Lorraine Nery, half of the new cases were local cases with link, while the other half were local index cases. Of the 4,070 total Covid-19 cases in the city, 426 were under the returning overseas Filipino workers/locally stranded individuals (ROFs/LSIs) category and 3,644 cases were local transmissions. Cagayan de Oro recorded 154 active cases, 53 of whom were admitted to the Northern Mindanao Medical Center and other hospitals in the city, 98 were outpatients, and three were ROFs/LSIs. The city also registered one new coronavirus-positive person who was tagged as "recovered," bringing the total number of recoveries in Cagayan de Oro to 3,724, with a 91.49 percent recovery rate. Of the figure, 302 were LSIs, 119 were ROFs, and 3,303 were local cases (community: 2,789; Apors: 514). The number of Covid-19 deaths in the city was at 192.
