| Higala App ordinance implementation on April 1 Posted: 30 Mar 2021 06:37 AM PDT THE Cagayan de Oro City will start implementing the Higala App ordinance starting April 1. It can be recalled that in early February, the City Council approved the ordinance instituting the Higala Application (Higala App) as the principal contact tracing system for Covid-19 response plan and other highly infectious disease in the city. The ordinance also mandates all residents and non-residents to use it in entering all establishments, offices and other entities, whether public or private. Areas covered by the ordinance include all indoor or enclosed public spaces, private establishments and entities within the territorial jurisdiction of Cagayan de Oro City, including but not limited to government and private offices/workplaces, commercial, industrial and indoor establishments, churches, hospitals, accommodation establishments, banks and other financial services, supermarket and groceries, public markets, cemeteries, transport terminals as well as bus lines, airport transfer services, taxis and other enclosed public transport services. Under the ordinance, violators (establishments) will be fined P1,000 on first offense, P3,000 on second offense, and P5,000 on third offense, including suspension or revocation of business permit, if applicable. Individual found violating the ordinance will be fined P500 on first offense, P1,000 on second offense, and P1,500 on third offense. | City Health Office notes decline in active cases in Oro Posted: 30 Mar 2021 06:37 AM PDT THE number of new coronavirus infections in Cagayan de Oro continues to drop, with the City Health Office recording only three additional cases as of March 29. The additional cases brought the cumulative case count in the city to 4,089 and active cases to 126. City Health Office Acting Chief Dr. Lorraine Nery said of the 4,089 total Covid-19 cases in the city, 428 were under the returning overseas Filipinos/locally stranded individuals (ROFs/LSIs) category and 3,661 cases were local transmissions. The city's active cases, on the other hand, include 36 who were admitted to the Northern Mindanao Medical Center and other hospitals in the city, 86 outpatients, and four ROFs/LSIs. Cagayan de Oro also registered 23 Covid-19 patients who have recovered from the disease, bringing the total recoveries to 3,769. Of the figure, 302 were LSIs, 120 were ROFs, and 3,347 were local cases (community: 2826; Apors: 521). The number of Covid-19 deaths in the city was at 194.
