Cagayan de Oro aims to achieve herd immunity by October Posted: 04 Sep 2021 05:37 AM PDT CAGAYAN de Oro City is aiming to reach the target herd immunity by October 2021. According to City Mayor Oscar Moreno, the city will only be able to achieve herd immunity if the number of individuals vaccinated per day in all mega vaccination centers and barangay vaccination sites is at 8,000 to 10,000 vaccinees. The city mayor said the vaccination teams need to level up to improve the city's vaccination rollout program. The city's target population to achieve herd immunity is 518,518 residents. As of September 3, Cagayan de Oro has vaccinated 309,465 individuals, 102,592 of whom were fully vaccinated and 206,873 have received their first dose of the Covid-19 vaccines. Of the 309,465 vaccinees, 233,293 were vaccinated in the city's vaccination sites while 76,172 were vaccinated in the city's hospitals. New Covid-19 cases in Cagayan de Oro at 100 Posted: 04 Sep 2021 05:37 AM PDT THE Cagayan de Oro City Health Office has reported 100 new coronavirus disease (Covid-19) cases on Saturday, September 9, 2021, one of whom is a locally stranded individual (LSI) and 99 local transmissions. This brought the cumulative number of infections in the city to 17,569. Of the 99 new confirmed cases, 52 were local index cases, 28 were close contacts of previously confirmed cases, nine local authorized persons outside residence (Apors), four Apors with link, and six mortalities. Cagayan de Oro recorded 3,477 active cases, 850 of whom were admitted to the Northern Mindanao Medical Center and other hospitals in the city, 2,614 were outpatients, and 13 ROFs/LSIs. The city also registered 69 new coronavirus-positive persons who were now tagged as "recovered." This brought the total number of recoveries in Cagayan de Oro to 13,339. The number of Covid-19 deaths in the city was now at 753. Meanwhile, the total number of vaccinated individuals who tested positive for coronavirus in Cagayan de Oro is now at 3,714. Of the 3,714 vaccinees, 2,326 were vaccinated with Sinovac vaccine, 705 were vaccinated with AstraZeneca, 248 with Pfizer, 214 with Sputnik V, 211 with Janssen, four with Sinopharm, six with Moderna. Of the 2,326 coronavirus-positive Sinovac vaccinees, 1,840 individuals were experiencing mild symptoms, 332 were asymptomatic, 147 were moderate cases, and seven were severe cases. Among the 705 AstraZeneca vaccinees, 523 individuals had mild symptoms, 129 were asymptomatic, 49 had moderate symptoms, and four were severe cases.
