27 Delta variant cases detected in Cagayan de Oro Posted: 31 Aug 2021 05:49 AM PDT CAGAYAN de Oro City Health Office has reported the detection of another 27 new Delta variant cases in the city. This is more than half of the cases recorded in Northern Mindanao, which is at 44. With the 27 additional cases, the cumulative number of Delta variant cases in the city is now at 58. According to City Health Office medical officer Dr. Ted Yu, 16 of the new Delta cases were males and the other 11 cases were females. The youngest is 10 years old, while the oldest is 86 years old. Of the 27 new Delta variant cases, 17 are clinically recovered, five are active cases currently staying at the city's Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility, three have their results read negative, and two are dead. Yu said the sample of these 27 Delta cases were obtained on August 6 to 11. One of the mortalities was a resident of Barangay Macasandig while the other was from Barangay Bugo. The other 25 Delta cases were from Barangays Carmen (4), Indahag (1), Cugman (2), Nazareth (1), Barangay 30 (7), Gusa (2), Upper Balulang (1), Balulang (1), Bonbon (1), Barangay 25 (1), Barangay 10 (1), Puntod (1), Barangay 11 (1), and Camaman-an (1). According to Yu, the seven from Barangay 30 are workers of a construction company. "When we received the report, nag-activate na tayo kaagad ng contact tracing as advised by the Department of Health," Yu said. Contact tracing is still ongoing, he added. Active Covid-19 cases in Cagayan de Oro rise to 3,400 Posted: 31 Aug 2021 05:49 AM PDT THE number of coronavirus disease (Covid-19) active infections in Cagayan de Oro has risen to 3,400, the City Health Office (CHO) reported. These active cases are composed of 861 individuals who were admitted to the Northern Mindanao Medical Center and other hospitals in the city, 2,529 outpatients, and five returning overseas Filipino workers (ROFs)/locally stranded individuals (LSIs). The City Health Office also recorded 109 new cases, of which 108 were local transmissions and one was a LSI. Of the 108 local cases, 73 were local index cases, 17 are local cases with link, 11 are local authorized persons outside residence (Apors), and three are Apors with link. The CHO also recorded four mortalities. This brought the cumulative Covid-19 case count to 17,100. Cagayan de Oro also registered 67 Covid-19 patients who have recovered from the disease, bringing the total recoveries to 12,970. The number of Covid-19 deaths in the city is now at 730. Meanwhile, the total number of vaccinated confirmed coronavirus-positive individuals in Cagayan de Oro has reached 3,470. According to CHO, of the 3,470 vaccinees, 2,167 were vaccinated with Sinovac vaccine, 666 were vaccinated with AstraZeneca, 240 with Pfizer, 198 with Sputnik V, 190 with Janssen, four with Sinopharm, and five with Moderna. Of the 2,167 coronavirus-positive Sinovac vaccinees, 1,705 individuals are experiencing mild symptoms, 332 are asymptomatic, 133 have moderate symptoms, and seven are severe cases. Among the 666 AstraZeneca vaccinees, 495 individuals have mild symptoms, 122 are asymptomatic, 46 have moderate symptoms, and three severe cases.
