Stony Brook's Pentimento Restaurant closes after 27 years, following dispute with landlord
The beloved Pentimento Restaurant, which opened in 1994, was "absolutely foundational to the community," said one longtime customer. As the restaurant served its last meal Sunday night, the scene "was a madhouse," co-owner Lisa Cusumano said. "People wanted that last burger, that last fettuccine with tuna. … And everyone was crying, everyone wanted to hug us goodbye."
