Local Alert: Maryland announces first three cases of omicron variant in the greater Washington region

Gov. Larry Hogan (R) said the cases involve residents of the Baltimore area, two of whom are from the same household, including one vaccinated person who recently traveled to South Africa. The other is an unvaccinated person who was a close contact. The third case involves a vaccinated person with no known recent travel history, state officials said.
