Funding Available to Improve Water Quality, Habitat, and Flood Resiliency in Hudson River Estuary Watershed

DEC Commissioner Basil Seggos has announced approximately $130,000 in funding is available to help communities in the Hudson River Estuary watershed improve water quality, increase flood resiliency, and conserve natural resources. The grants will help municipalities document constrictions that cause flooding at culverts and bridges and are barriers to fish movement in Hudson tributary streams. The grants are administered by DEC's Hudson River Estuary Program, in partnership with New England Interstate Water Pollution Control Commission (NEIWPCC).

The deadline for proposals is June 10, 2022, at 12 p.m. The "Restoration of Watershed Connectivity and Improved Road Infrastructure" Request For Proposals with application requirements and instructions is available on NEIWPCC's website. Find general information about the RFP on DEC's website.

Hudson River Estuary Grants Program

DEC Commissioner Basil Seggos has announced $1.14 million in competitive grant funding is available for communities in the Hudson River Estuary watershed through three Requests for Applications: Local Stewardship Planning; River Access; and River Education. The deadline for all applications is June 1, 2022, at 3 p.m. These RFAs are only available online through the NYS Grants Gateway
