Steady decline in Covid-19 cases in Cagayan de Oro Posted: 31 May 2022 08:58 PM PDT CAGAYAN de Oro has seen a steady decline in new coronavirus disease (Covid-19) cases, as the city logged zero to less than three cases for weeks.As of May 30, Cagayan de Oro has recorded one new local index case, bringing the cumulative number of infections to 25,863.According to City Health medical officer Dr. Teodoro Yu Jr., the lone new local index case is a 33-year-old female from Barangay Bugo who is currently admitted in a hospital in Cagayan de Oro.Cagayan de Oro's active cases are now at five, one of which was admitted in a hospital and four were outpatients.The city also registered two new coronavirus-positive persons who are now tagged as "recovered." This brought the total number of recoveries in Cagayan de Oro to 24,917.The number of Covid-19 related deaths remains at 941, with no new Covid-related deaths recorded in the city. |
Northern Mindanao unemployment drops to 4.9% in 2021 Posted: 31 May 2022 08:48 PM PDT THE Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) reported that the unemployment rate in Northern Mindanao has improved to 4.9 percent in 2021.It is lower by 1.5 percentage points than the 2020 annual estimate of 6.4 percent.According to PSA, there are a total of 119,000 unemployed individuals in the total labor force of Northern Mindanao.Among the provinces and highly urbanized cities in the region, Lanao del Norte posted the lowest unemployment rate of 2.4 percent.Meanwhile, the underemployment rate in Northern Mindanao decreased to 14.3 percent in 2021 from 23.6 percent in 2020.In the region, there are a total of 327,000 employed persons who expressed the desire to have additional hours of work in their present job, to have additional job or have a new job with longer working hours.Among the provinces and highly urbanized cities in the region, Iligan City posted the lowest underemployment rate of 5 percent. |
Oro reports zero new Covid-19 cases, zero deaths Posted: 30 May 2022 06:11 PM PDT CAGAYAN de Oro has recorded zero new coronavirus disease (Covid-19) cases and zero deaths over the weekend, the City Health Office reported on Monday, May 30.The total number of confirmed coronavirus infections in the city remains at 25,862.The cumulative number of active cases in Cagayan de Oro is still at six cases, all of which were outpatients.The total number of recoveries in Cagayan de Oro, on the other hand, is at 24,915, while the number of Covid-19 deaths in the city remained at 941, with no new Covid-related deaths recorded in Cagayan de Oro. |
Northern Mindanao logs highest labor force participation rate Posted: 30 May 2022 06:10 PM PDT NORTHERN Mindanao registered the highest labor force participation rate of 69.8 percent nationwide in 2021, the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) reported.According to the PSA, Northern Mindanao has a total number of 2.410 million individuals who were 15 years old and over and were either employed or unemployed in 2021.The labor force participation rate is higher by 3.5 percentage points than the 2020 annual estimate, which registered at 66.3 percent.Bukidnon posted the highest labor force participation rate among the provinces and highly urbanized cities nationwide. It registered 78.3 percent or 808,000 individuals.Meanwhile, the employment rate in Northern Mindanao has also increased to 95.1 percent in 2021. This is higher by 1.5 percentage points compared to the previous year. This amounts to a total of 2.291 million employed individuals in this region.Among the provinces and highly urbanized cities in Northern Mindanao, Lanao del Norte logged the highest employment rate of 97.6 percent.Cagayan de Oro recorded the lowest employment rate of 90.7 percent. |
