News Alert: Jan. 6 committee asks Newt Gingrich to supply information about his role in Trump’s efforts to stop certification of the election

In a statement, Rep. Bennie G. Thompson (D-Miss.) said that information obtained by the committee showed that former House speaker Gingrich (R-Ga.) was in contact with senior advisers to President Donald Trump about television ads based on false claims of widespread fraud in the 2020 election.
