COVID deaths on LI higher this summer than past two
From June 1 to Sept. 21, 304 Long Islanders died of COVID-19, according to state data. That's higher than that same time period in 2021 and in 2020. Doctors said those dying are mostly unvaccinated and vaccinated, but unboosted, people with weakened immune systems.
