Entertainment Alert: ‘Julie & Julia’ author Julie Powell dies at 49. She became a culinary phenomenon while cooking through Julia Child's landmark book.

The Julie/Julia Project, a blog about her year-long attempt to cook every recipe in "Mastering the Art of French Cooking," was turned into a book and a movie starring Meryl Streep and Amy Adams.
