In a career spanning almost four decades in the NFL, Beathard's teams — most notably Washington, the San Diego Chargers and Miami Dolphins — won 10 division titles, seven league or conference championships and four Super Bowls. His years as general manager in Washington, from 1978 to 1988, formed the centerpiece of his legacy.
