Serena Williams: 'I want to see more people in design that look like me'

Presented by

You know Serena Williams as a tennis superstar. But she's also a passionate fashion designer who attended school to study the craft. And over the past two decades, as she has launched her own fashion label and collaborated with other designers, she has seen firsthand how white and exclusionary the fashion world can be.

Williams wants to see more designers who look like her, and she's on a mission to make it happen. She partnered with Nike to launch an apprenticeship program for young, minority designers called the Serena Williams Design Crew.  The inaugural crew included 10 designers who spent six months designing Williams' latest collection for Nike, which drops in early September. Catch a first glimpse of the collection, and read about what's next for the program here.
